but a dude livestreaming from the convoy said that they did that to show the RCMP how quickly they could clear the area.

American here. Used to teach HS Social Studies. Left schools because Clown World horseshit. Critical thinking is not only NOT TAUGHT, you are pretty much told to avoid teaching critical thinking to kids these days. Everything is DBQs (Document Based Questions) and the dipshitted PARCC tests.

Well Canada's education system is so shit that even DBQs are considered an advanced concept, only taught in gifted programs like International Baccalaureate.

Edit: And that was in the early 2010s! To be fair the questions were a little more advanced than regurgitating points from the text, they did actually expect you to analyse it somewhat.
