Isn't ASL weird about sentence structure and is pretty much a very abbreviated form of English? You'd think the Deaf community would be the last one to nitpick the nuance of sentence structure and word choice. Then again, Wedge isn't deaf and deaf people can't hear what's being said so they probably don't even realize what's missing (unless they are really good at reading lips while also reading captions).
