There are plenty of cultures that do a big wake-type party where everyone gets drunk and has a good time in celebration of the life of the deceased.

But especially with this Freedom Convoy, of course people are overjoyed. We've been subject to a two year psyop, where there's a media blackout about any dissent. It was depressing, and it is refreshing to be surrounded by people who also want to see changes made. And much of what they're protesting about, be it mask mandates, vax passports, etc, are already de facto "lifted" among the truckers and to some extent in Ottawa at large (what can the police do about it?). Of course people are overjoyed to see each other's smiling faces again, to be able to participate in group activities, even just to hug one another. What they're protesting for is that the freedoms already joyously present at the demonstration be reinstated throughout society in perpetuity.


Again, unbelievable retardation. The reason people are so happy at the protest is to finally have a sense of community again, after being atomized and isolated by covid restrictions; spending two years alone getting blasted with fear porn.

Ultimately, it's such a horrifically bad take that I have to suspect it's satire. Even the account name and pic seem a bit too silly to be real.

Their main argument is that it is an occupation instead of a protest.

What is strange about this is that they previously supported events that declared themselves occupations - CHAZ/CHOP, etc.

Always assume that there is, especially since nobody wants to actually sit with the truckers and listen to them. And since Trudeau is a true believer, they’ll look at everything they can do to avoid egg on their face. Including the army. And Un peacekeepers. And paying Antifa. And calling on paramilitary groups (that is of Reddit and Twitter doesn’t reach out to them first).

That's a more charitable interpretation, I suppose. To me it feels like a threat. "We regard you being silent as you being violent. And that justifies a violent response".

Anyway, this is insanity on the part of the governments. The science barely supports vaccination as useful. Certainly doesn't seem to stop transmission. What the Hell is so important about forcing these vaccines that the politicians are willing to wreck the country over it?

That was only the most recent example of Sinclair chicanery. Their behavior first came to everyone's attention when, in 2004, they produced and tried to make all of their affiliates, run an anti-John Kerry hit piece special (where Kerry's achievements from when he was in the military were called into question/Kerry lying about them) explicitly to hurt Kerry before the election. They ended up pulling the special from most markets and the ones who did air it, aired a radically re-edited piece that was less "Kerry lied about his military service!" and more "report on the controversy over people saying Kerry was lying about his military service!".
