If he's a cartel guy and not some small-time street dealer...my only regret was they didn't turn him around and whip his face, chest, stomach and groin.

There was a video, early 2000 while the Irak war started, with Al Qaeda tortured a US soldier that really churned my stomach: They cut his fingers, a hand, took his eyes, burn his mouth and stuff like that.

They are legit animals when it comes to torture.

I'd say he was at least working for the cartels since he coughed up info on his boss. I really didn't have an issue with the torture, I just don't think that's the best way to do it. If you tell the guy you're going to kill him anyway, and he's just going to be tortured longer before dying if he talks, he may eventually just decide "well fuck this, I'd rather just die." Likewise, he seemed like a really weak-willed mother fucker. I think they could have pressured him into arranging a meeting with his boss, which would be someone that could give more actionable intel than he could.

That sounds more like Baath Party SOP rather than something Al Qaeda would do, but in the aftermath of the invasion a lot of Baathists joined the various Islamist and terrorist factions.

I guess he should be glad they whipped him to death vs. what the cartels would do to him if they found out he named names within the organization.

This one makes me mad.

I bet the scooter driver saw the car from the far distance and assumed he would not cross over the chevron strip and then kept on riding. If you are gonna do something illegal like the car driver, you need to be very aware of all traffic.
