I didn’t want to vote in the poll when it was about foreclosure because it didn’t include the option(s) of one or the other’s death, and I felt it was more likely that either Coco would die, forcing Juliana out, or Juliana would die, and coco would stay until it became too difficult to live alone and she created some kind of face-saving excuse (although her face is long past the point of saving).
Juliana’s dad having pancreatic cancer feeds my tinfoil suspicions of someone’s death being a direct influence on their housing situation. I think now it’s most likely that Juliana’s dad will sadly die soon (like many here, I have observed pancreatic cancer acting quickly even on very fit people), triggering a massive binge-meltdown, leading to further loss of mobility and moving back in with her mom, but calling it “helping out while mom is grieving”. You know, family obligations.
But iirc, when Juliana volunteered to help move her parents to Kansas in the first place, there was some kind of moment of uncomfortable realization that involved her mobility (it may have been KF speculation, but I think she was clear in her obfuscatory way that she couldn’t physically help with moving except maybe driving a truck—even a small 10’ uhaul is roomy). Juliana is utterly useless as help to an adult partner, roommate, or parent, and I think she’ll move back in with her mom only to become bedridden within weeks, and then die soon enough after that.
Her mom is about to lose everything, and while I know she had some issues with being a quality parent to Juliana when she was young, she seems to have worked though some things, and losing a spouse and a child (who she hopefully already regards as dead, as a coping mechanism) is going to be very hard on her.
