Christ I hope Canada's next elections are as fun as ours were.
They did this shit to people who voted Brexit for years. Saying it was all about immigration (As repeated polling found it wasn't, most cited Soverignty as the main reason they voted Leave, Immigration was usually point six or lower.)
Everyone who voted for it was a thicko racist wanting to revive the Empire, shoot all immigrants etc etc etc.
Labour threw in behind it with endless endless calls for a "People's Vote" (In the same way Best Korea has Democracy in the title) the bugmen behind them became increasingly shrill and were salivating and telling themselves that everyone had swung against Brexit and the stupid proles would be put back in their place... cause everyone they spoke to (on twitter) said so....
Only for Labour to go to its greatest defeat since 1935 and continue to lose seats it had held for a century or more as places rebelled against the rotten hand that had held them forever.

Perhaps some are, but some are checking and finding empty cans or suspicious containers labeled "Not gas" and find they are wasting their time. Many are likely not being paid enough for bothering to check or sniffing gasoline. Maybe that's why he's asking for more police to come in, the ones here don't care enough for whatever reason.
There's been a big difference on what meeting stated will be done with higher fines and shit and more arrests, but I haven't seen much of that apart from the few videos shown here. I suppose they feel if they put out enough of this information that the bugmen will buy it or they really hope truckers lose their nerve from the threats of arrests/fines.

Pretty much, it's obvious quite a few cops are going to be sympathetic to this bullshit, they didn't want to go around enforcing that shit. Hell, the UK police barely wanted to (with notable exceptions to the lolcows in the Derbyshire Police Farce) and those guys can be hilariously petty if they don't like your face.
Its obvious that fuels still going to get through and the council can screech for as many cops as they like. These people are not their jackbooted drones and might want to go back to fighting actual crime instead of ticketing people.
