@Vyse Inglebard and @cybertoaster both make good points.

The Beltway wants Trump gone, gone, gone. They do not want him making a second run in 2024, or even playing at being kingmaker. They want him expunged and whatever legacy he's generated burned to ashes.

But.

This is a hell of a fucking precedent to set. I've noted before, too, that the real danger to the Dems is that Trump will teach Republicans to like the taste of the other guy's blood, instead of their own. Combine that with the precedent of 'harassing presidents after they leave office' and things could get mighty interesting indeed.

They always see the next election as the final one they need to make and don't think of long term consequences.

Up here it's 10 cents higher this week. It's pretty amazing that $4 gas might actually be in the cards this year.
Gas where I'm at went up 25 cents just prior to the winter storm, and only went down 5 cents after the storm. I'd like to try and time when I fill up to minimize the cost, but now I just try to top up whenever possible, and just assume that next week the price will be higher.

Biden 'promises' he will STOP Nord Stream 2 pipeline turning on if Putin invades Ukraine and tells ALL Americans to leave Kiev: German Chancellor Scholz doesn't mention gas project - but insists he is 'united' with the US against Russia

  • President Joe Biden confirmed there will be no Nord Stream 2 pipeline if Russia invades the Ukraine although he did not detail how that would be accomplished
  • Biden met with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz at the White House
  • 'If Russia invades - that means tanks and troops crossing the border of Ukraine again - then there will no longer be Nord Stream 2. We will bring an end to it,' Biden said
  • But Biden didn't say how - the pipeline stretches 764 miles from Russia across Baltic states and into Germany
  • 'I promise you we'll be able to do it,' the president said
  • Scholz wouldn't mention Nord Stream 2 by name but only said U.S. and Germany are 'united' when it comes to Russian aggression
  • 'We're acting together,' the chancellor said. 'We're absolutely united and we will not take different steps'
  • Meeting comes as Germany accused of being 'missing in action' on Ukraine
  • Allies frustrated Scholz won't send lethal weapons to Ukraine, increase German troops in Eastern Europe or say which sanctions he'll back

Thumbs up and thumbs down of the week, courtesy of The Gaggle.

I almost didn't make it across the DMZ this week. But I was able to use a stick to trip a Laotian kid and got away. Hopefully the video appears as a downloadable attachment because I can't seem to embed it for reasons. NOPE! Didn't attach. Null's website blows. That child died for nothing.

There was a blue check mark gas speculator on twitter talking about 4 bucks easy by Spring when Biden opened the reserves. He basically said if the covid restrictions are eased and any kind of volatility around the world could drive it even higher.

Germany being cucks when it comes to nuclear power has fucked the world over for decades.

Germany being cucks when it comes to nuclear power has fucked the world over for decades.
Golly gee, I wonder why? It can't be because the German people have been propagandized to by progressives and other subversives for nigh on eighty years at this rate, eh? And those progressives being absolute retards with nuclear energy...you see what I mean.

Trump was the battering ram that broke down the door. His greatest legacy is teaching conservatives that it is okay to win.

Biden science adviser Eric Lander resigned from his position on Monday after an investigation found that he violated the White House's workplace policy, the White House confirmed.
Why it matters: White House investigation recordings and documents obtained by Politico show that Lander bullied his former general counsel. He later apologized for speaking to White House Office of Science and Technology Policy staff in "a disrespectful or demeaning way."
  • Lander is the first person of cabinet rank to resign or be let go in the Biden administration.
Details: Lander was scheduled to testify before the House's health subcommittee on biomedical research on Tuesday, but his appearance was canceled late Monday.
The big picture: In a note to OSTP staff over the weekend, Lander said: "It's my responsibility to set a respectful tone for our community. It’s clear that I have not lived up to this responsibility. ... It is never acceptable for me to speak that way."
  • A White House spokesperson told Axios on Monday that White House leadership met with Lander to "discuss the seriousness of the matter and the President’s expectation that all staff interactions be conducted with respect."
  • "We take this incredibly seriously, and we are taking swift action to ensure that it doesn’t happen again," the spokesperson added.
Editor's note: This a breaking news story. Please check back for updates.

@Gehenna Is this a sign of something deeper or is a cigar just a cigar?
