I believe it was because Linkara wanted to show you don’t need profanity to be funny and entertaining.

Honestly, in a time period when everyone was trying to be an AVGN clone and chain-swear, Linkara not swearing in his reviews was actually a breath of fresh air and gave the impression that he was more reasonable and informed than he actually was.
It was actually a smart move on his part.

Well he failed on both those counts so obviously it didn't work.
I mean I get it, some folk swear so often that the words lose their power. It just becomes noise after a while. But the judicious use of words like "fuck" can add a punch to your language. He's proud of the fact he doesn't swear on his show. In doing so on twatter just shows he's a hypocrite.

Because when he told his parents about the show, they told him not to swear and he wanted to prove he was a good boy... Until the movie.
Also he thinks Linkara is just a character he plays, rather than him being a dick.
How much of Lewis Lovhaug is left if you remove 'Linkara' from him?

I get this viewpoint, and as much as I dont hate (or even dislike his reviews) I wouldnt call him or his reviews funny lol
I dunno, I find his impotent profanity-laden twitter freak-outs much more entertaining than another episode of 'Discount Doctor Who'
