Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

Re-watched the series to get ready for the finale tomorrow. It holds up better than I thought it would, but that's only in terms of being entertaining. Writing-wise and format-wise, it's still clunky at best and doesn't utilize Boba probably (Temuera's comments about Boba needing to speak less would've helped a LOT) and the concept of making him a crime lord isn't executed nearly as well as it could have been. Definitely could've stood to drop the Mods since they serve little to no point, especially with Fennec being so OP. The finale probably won't change things and I'm not expecting to rate it that highly overall, but the last few episodes were pretty good so who knows maybe it'll end on a decent note.

The first thing Boba should have done is single-handedly killed the slave driving sand people. They gave Fett Stockholm Syndrome lol.

I don't feel like getting into another long discussion about why canon is important to fiction (lord knows I opened a can of worms last time), so I'll just wrap up by saying that you should at least care that the stories you enjoy are consistent and not likely to be changed every time some hack writer shows up to "improve" the story.

It's hard for me to feel bad for people retarded enough to believe Disney would stick to, let alone ever actually manage, an "anything said is canon" approach to a vast multimedia franchise. It's especially hard for me not to laugh at people getting upset at some tiny aspect like Yodas lightsaber being thrown away in some ultimately unimportant comic being ignored in exchange for some a dramatic moment in their popular tentpole streaming service.

It feels like this was the exact reason for "canon levels" or whatever with George, because he realized people are so autistic they'll get upset at pointless shit only a handful of people ever noticed being changed at some point.

Canon is important when it's important, and it's absolutely fucking not important when it isn't. These people are getting upset just to get upset it feels like. Are there people out there who actually care about this one moment from a comic book that much? Is Yodas lightsaber being thrown into some incinerator really *that* important? Out of all the shit Disney has fucked up, shit like *this* is what will make the diehards Disney Wars people upset?

If the Chief hadn't relented after he killed that Ray Harryhausen thing in the desert he probably would have. I know we meme about Boba, but he's got some decent feats under his belt in the series despite it being mismanaged. If there's a second season (which Morrison wants apparently so he can go after Mace for his dad's honour), just have him speak less and hunt more.

The T*skins are a noble people who were there first, Shmi Skywalker and all those poor farmers were the ones in the wrong.

So he just did a complete u-turn on his Disney comic circlejerk from a few weeks ago where he was telling everyone to go read Aphra and Vader to now exclaiming that "this is fine" and trying to find excuses for why he doesn't care for the disney comics anymore now after disney proved once again that their continuity is more broken and less consistent than ever. This guy is switching takes faster than the speed of sound to make sure it aligns well with whatever new decision Disney or Filoni makes. The man is truly Bike Cuck incarnate.

I think the biggest dead giveaway things would look cheap as hell for me was when I saw the clips of the sarlacc guts and the Boston Dymanics dog robots with their bright yellow paintjobs and company logos still stamped on them sticking out like a snowball on the streets of Tatooine.
I know it is because it is his job, but having at least the courage to say that it is because the creators of both comic and movie or series doesn't care about their own content enough to check these details and just want the easy references and memberberries. It is a paid job after all for both groups, it isn't like they created the whole thing and they care in a personal level to it.

This makes me wonder how much better both series and comics/novel would be without each other or trying to fit, the things could be a lot more expressive.

Also I finally got to experience episode IX... by reading the kids comic version since the normal comic version was canceled.

That's all very well and loserly of them, but when they want to take it out on a severely wounded idiot on the sand, they ought to be taken out by said idiot if that idiot happens to be a badass. Unfortunately, this Fett is low "T" so they had their way with him. If this were a badass Fett, they should have paid dearly instead of providing another Disneyfied Dances With Sandboyz. I would've liked to have seen him tear through his captives than maybe learn to work with neighboring tribes against the pikes. The teddybear shit needs to go, but it won't.

That art is atrocious lol. Rey's head is basically a pentagon upside down.

If this were a badass Fett, they should have paid dearly
To be fair, he was surrounded and without his armour, his ship or any weapons available to him (and watched at all times for the most part). Those Nikto's being mowed down by Slave-1 is more of what Boba is capable of once he has the right tools for the job, which shows he's not above revenge killings even after mellowing out in the desert for a few years.

They shaped the story to push the narrative of Boba becoming a non-vindictive nice guy who wants respect while getting disrespected constantly. It would have been better if they allowed him to get a little nastier. At least it would help differentiate him from Din a lot more. Now he's softer than Din and has his waifu do all the dirty work for him. He should be able to slide back to full antagonist mode at the drop of a hat. But that's little ol' non Disney shareholder me.

I don't disagree and think there should have been more action with better framing for the flashbacks. They're not uninteresting or anything, but they could've easily been done within the first two episodes and then the main plot kicks off in episode 3.

So is this artist some /pol/ deepcover agent or something? Because she's even gap-toothed. Like show that to the jiggaboo cartoonists in the 30s and they'd be all "hold up friend, that's kinda offensive isn't it?"

Actually it is done by italians in the disney branch of italy, who is much more productive than the disney comics in america, releasing lots of adaptations and original works, in the US, it ends up being published by IDW.

The art of the guy who did the character studies is very stylezed

I would’ve been for the Sand People arc if he did something manly like kill big duck chieftain during an escape attempt and accidentally gain leadership over a tribe of inbred sand dwellers. That would be cool, Boba the Warlord isn’t a bad idea. Again, anything but what they actually did.
By the ancient seas of Tatooine, leave those Banthas alone or I will give you a taste of my gaffi stick.
Defy the death god and be buried up to your neck in sand and pelted with black melons until death. So says the death god.
