I think no one has answered this so I'll throw my lot in.
Short answer: Yes it does.
Long answer: Took abit to get multiplayer running proper. On launch in 2016 I believe, NMS was considered a colossal fail because of all the promises that were made by CEO and visionary Sean Murray (this is why you use trained PR people and have gag orders, something Vtubers and companies tend to need). What alot of people initially thought post launch was that the company knew they were releasing a bad game and were going to run with the money (I am of the firm belief that it was just feature creep with poor PR plus Sony breathing down their necks to get NMS released. Hence a bad game). What wasn't quite expected was the radio silence being the game devs working on improving the game ala bug fixes, improved generation, mechanics, and rudementary multiplayer (MP then was more spectator and/or ghost interactions). Took awhile but proper multiplayer with full models was added in around 2017/2018. Bla bla bla more big updates including bases, ships, underwater, exploration etc etc et al. So good was the continous support for the game it won some award during VGA 2020 to the surprise of some I think.
