  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
From talking with a handful of people who actually like the guy, here's the general gist of why they do -

1. He's traditionally attractive. You can't really deny that - he's miles above others in his sphere by simply not looking like either a stereotypical basement-dweller (TheQuartering, Sargon) or your 9/11 truther uncle (Alex Jones, Stefan Molyneux). This grants him at least some charisma based on this alone, and makes him someone to aspire to be, if you're a manosphere type looking for a normal-looking dude to listen to.

2. They think he's funny. Genuinely. While his humor isn't my cup of tea, whatever he's doing seems to really land with some people.

3. He parrots out what these people want to hear in ways that sound both simple and (relatively) sane. His delivery is watered-down Alex Jones, and that's probably why he was hired in the first place.

I believe earlier his accent was mentioned that brought up how he automatically came across as smarter than he actually is. As for 3, I can see that, especially the Alex Jones part.
 
I guess I've been thinking about something.
Why the SJWs and anti-SJWs get so angry all the time.
The old philosophers, more so stoics, always talked about anger as fearful and irrational.
I watched a Tom Scott video where he stated the same thing. "Anger is fear in disguise"

Now I think with SJWs they are very stressed very easily, and see enemies everywhere.
You could say anti SJWs are the same in that they see enemies everywhere.

The extreme parts of the left and right may have this as well.
The alt left see the far right everywhere.
The far right are fearful of commies and the demographic shifts of their nations.

Now I'd say I am fearful for immigration to the point where native populations become a minority and commies but these people have clearly been consumed by it. Its why their only minority friends are those who are there for ideological purposes.

Their fear has taken over, their opinions, their allegiances all based on fear. And that fear becomes anger at any opinion slightly opposing theirs.

Its why the far left and far right always have dictatorships, they rule by fear and are led by fearful, paranoid leaders.

Considering that he thinks giving a liberal froo froo restaurant a ton of money was "trolling", you really think his audience really has a sane grasp of humor?

I'll never get over that take of his. Man was in Austin with some of the best fried chicken joints and barbecue in the state, but he claims he has nowhere to eat but noveau cuisine artsy fartsay places....

Seems the right also has an air of superiority to themselves. And all the parts of caring about ego and image.

Just want to say that when you read a lot H.L. Mencken and Hunter S. Thompson like I do (in an urironic, not Ethan Ralph kind of way), you start to realize that the Culture Wars dissolving into SJW and Anti-SJW talking points make people avoid or ignore the talk about class warfare, or at worst psychological warfare.

Thing is, I’m willing to argue that most people born in the 2000’s, are not fully aware of what Occupy really is. They’ll just say they want to “EAT THE RICH!” while posting on some of the Silicon Valley Big Tech corporations that would not hesitate to suspend or delete your account.

My anger is not derived from fear nor irrational. If it’s particularly annoying or stupid, I get angry. This is a similar train of thought as “homophobes only fear homosexuals because they’re secretly homosexual”. You’re not ascribing a completely different emotion (‘fear’ instead of ‘disgust’ or ‘anger’) to make them less intimidating or more pitiable. The reality is they’re grifters that make a quick buck pandering to peoples sense of righteousness, utilizing anger to simultaneously appeal to their audience and reassure them of their opinions. Everyone enjoys getting angry, because after you get angry and are proven right, you get to be a real smug son of a bitch.
