Canadian Truckers Convoy 2022 - The Leaf calls you a Nazi as he gasses you

I admittedly don't have statuses of the honks, but here's the map.
[I know it says embed but the link will still work]
Thanks. I had some problems getting the google link to work so here is a snapshot in case anyone else does.

Except lead.

Honestly gun violence is horrifying but I never understood this safety at all cost we need to regulate everything bad mentality that comes out.
You don't see this mentality in poorer countries but in wealthy nations you see this insistent need to want to bubble wrap and regulate everything into oblivion.
It comes from this western sense of elitism that you don't see elsewhere in the world.

It's easy to understand: guns are fucking scary + i am scared + i don't want to get shot.

Ironically they never think guns are fucking scary + i am scared + i can own guns + people have to respect me because i have guns too

A half dozen more and the economy is blocked off by truck. God forbid union Pacific railroad unions decide to talk to Canadian rail workers and say sure let's join the protests. This is totally the best Canadian dumpster fire ever.

It's the logical conclusion of the helplessness-as-a-virtue, snobbish "I hire a man to do that for me" mentality.

They outsource everything that would require a modicum of competence, even the safeguarding of their personal wellbeing.

Thank you.

There isn't really a reason for Trudeau to be out front everyday.

He already called the truckers racists so talking to them is a non starter. His constituents believe the truckers to be terrorists so there goes negotiating. If he acts like it is a crisis, then he would have to do something about the crisis.

Trudeau is screwed because there really isn't anything for him to do.
Disagree with this. It was brought up earlier in the day, but Trudeau's biggest issue is he's a narcissist who loves positive attention. Any chance of flaunting his modern hip looks and opinions? He's front and centre. The moment things turn south and get hard though? He's nowhere in sight.

Best example of this - again - are the native railway blockades back in 2020. What did Trudeau do during those? Turn up and take the knee like the summer of fiery yet (mostly) peaceful protests? Nawh, he spent two weeks dithering in quiet, of which a chunk of that time was flying out of the country for a UN security seat support tour (a seat he also lost on by the way) and only returned when the criticism became too much - and even then took a few days before he properly responded with the usual word salad and promises of additional cash.

Trudeau's best option was to meet with the truckers (or have a senior official do so) at the start, promise to listen and engage, and then do whatever. He failed on this, he's gone into hiding and run away from debate, doubled down on the anger and vitriol, and ensured the fallout is far worse than it should've been. He and the Liberals own this outcome which for Canada is very much a crisis, the only question is when enough of the party brass accept it to try and force a compromise.

A USA trucker convoy would never be like the Canuck Convoy. They would be shut down harder than Fort Knox, unfortunately.
Let's try it anyway because fed posting is not working, so let us make them hate orange man even more.

How long until the US moves is the question. Will the DoJ invoke one of those post-9/11 anti-terror laws to stop the GiveSendGo money?

Wouldn't want any PILOTS doing that now either: No UPS/FedEx/Maersk pilots, or commercial pilots, or ramp workers...

The possibilities are endless :story:

IIRC it was the Solid South Jim Crow era Democrats that pushed for it.

Though I do think the Star Spangled should get replaced with "America the Beautiful" or ""My Country, 'Tis of Thee" though.
“My Country Tis of Thee” is just “God Save the King/Queen” with different lyrics and this is traitorous garbage that I will not abide.

America the Beautiful is a wonderful option though.

I'm guessing the clowns we got running things down here are weighing their options. How scared are they of our truckers?
The media clampdown on the protests is a signal that the powers that be are at least somewhat aware of the implications. It's not an exaggeration to say that if a significant percentage of America's skilled labor force that keeps the lights on, clean water pumping, and food stocked on the shelves were to start monkeywrenching, the country could be plunged into utter chaos within a month. There's no way that they can just crush something like that with direct force, either. The US military and state security forces, for all of their potential for violence and subversion, aren't capable of maintaining the hugely complex supply chain that fuels our cities and lifestyle. It's also not something the behind the scenes oligarchs can easily address. They depend on servants, supplies, and manufactured goods to keep their decadence going too.

If you're Chinese, you can be both!

I've lost count of how many fuerdai kids I've done contracts for in my line of work. Don't let the stereotypes fool you. Foreign university students from China are dull as hell and have the financial literacy of Chris-Chan. The CCP aren't sending their best; they come to the West for a reason. I'm sure anyone from Vancouver could tell you the same thing.
I can tell you from experience the ones back home are at least if not more dumb.
