to just add: This is why parasocial relationships are dangerous and the sooner you realize its all a "sham" (ie. it's not real and it's all played up for the character's persona), the sooner you can live a healthier balance of "this Vtuber I like and want to support" and "this is entertainment"

Imagine if something like this happened within a group less friendly than holo though. Even in holo I'm sure the other members are a little bit pissed about Rushia causing this, even if they're all nice and supportive there's going to be a little voice in the back of their head telling them this yab has probably cost them ALL some money and fans, even if we'll never have Nene screaming at her about losing husbands

My own personal rrat about this is that Mafu's fans are much crazier and more dangerous than Rushia's disappointed unicorns, and so Rushia is making it seem like Mafu was definitely never interested in her. Instead it was all Rushia's misunderstanding, and so even if she takes a hit from her fans because she was pursuing the dick, she at least might not get knifed by some ugly fujo.

A lot of people would say we should support it because its a coping mechanism for depression and shit. Personally I don't think it actually is if the moment it's gone you immediately commit toaster bath. CMs are supposed to help you heal and move on, not be your substitute for meth. If you can't handle the loss of your CM, you're not sctuslly coping, you're just hiding from your problems.

The japanese are internationally notorious for not having the mental tools to deal with anything remotely emotional.
The leading cause of death between the ages of 15 and 29 is suicide ffs, then as you grow older cancer and cardiac disease creep up a bit.
