This also isn't true in my experience. Large (tech especially) companies tend to run leftist, and the media ONLY talks about those companies as if they are the entire industry, or as if Silicon Valley is the only place in the US that has developers. Most of the significant work these days isn't even done in Silicon Valley. People solving real problems don't have time to think about diversity, inclusion, equity, and related nonsense. Those are the excuses used by people who can't compete to explain to themselves why they failed. The minority version of "the mexicans are stealing our jobs!" if you will.

Nah it'd ruin the magic of it if we started going up and doing American memes like shadilay and shooting people. It's beautifully Canadian with it's street hockey and angry French men. It's gotta stay that way

Court grants injunction against Ambassador Bridge blockade | Archive
"The chief justice of Ontario's Superior Court of Justice has granted an injunction to end the blockade at Windsor's Ambassador Bridge. Chief Justice Geoffrey B. Morawetz [don't waste your time "Early Life"ing] made the ruling in a court proceeding Friday. It will come into effect at 7 p.m. Specifics of the injunction are being worked out, with a draft to be presented to the court when the proceedings resume at 5:15 p.m. Friday."

How things unfold tonight and whether or not the truckers hold the line at the bridge will set the tone for the rest of this movement. Hopefully things don't get messy. There are still the emergency meetings in Toronto where the province hopes to write certain emergency powers into law (permanently) and I think that citizens should really keep an eye on what goes down in the next 48 hours.

Define significant work in software such that it avoids Silicon Valley. Maybe it's different elsewhere, but the D-I-E agenda here in Canada is so entrenched that my closest friend, who is a plumber/gas-fitter by trade, kvetches at me about the endless propaganda in his firm.
