To me, idolfaggotry is about supporting an oshi that has some type of tangible (not subcount related) goal that they're progressing towards. It's refreshing compared to your typical streamer life trajectory of rotting away in a room playing video games with nothing in particular to look forward to, retelling the same old stories from before they became full-time streamers and becoming less and less interesting over time. I really only want to watch people that have dreams and shit. If my oshi dropped everything she did except streaming games and never tried to make high effort content, I might as well be watching DSP. :stress:

In old school idol vocabulary, oshi [押し] literally means 'to push for' as in to support. It's not a synonym for waifu. Having an oshi could be considered living vicariously through other people's achievements but hey man, it's my entertainment.

I think most real life idolfans are closer to my perspective than gachikoi. If it were all about delusional simping, idols wouldn't bother putting in the effort to do all the things they do that don't bring in as much money like original songs or dance training.

This remind me of a youtube comment I found under a Holo clip. I assume it was from ID fans. They have JKT48, a branch of AKB48. Some JP TV interviewed JKT48 fans. The JP surprised that the fans supporting/encouraging their idols to have relationship and have stable marriage.

Has to be true. There aren't enough "incel" "paypig" "gachi" etc. psychos in the world to buy all those chats and memberships.

I've only given money once, to Haachama, because she was having a hard time (as she does) and I figured that some random American sending her a little pile of ¥ would be a small encouragement to keep doing Haachama things. And maybe it was. The end.

That has to be typical, or we'd see a lot more crazy shit. Weird messages from a weird dude is almost always the end of it. Only the worst crazies persist when their "If I pay her, she'll..." plan doesn't work out. And what they persist with is typically masochistic (like Rushia's Orca guy), not "toxic" in the worrying sense.

Scary dudes and cartoon-girl-loving dudes are barely the same dudes.

Idk, I find this all sad rather than entertaining because this happens way more often than you think over here.
In the past several months alone, several Japanese celebrities and voice actors have been blacklisted for this very thing and it could very well happen here.
It might be funny the first time but I have a feeling this is probably going to keep on happening just because of how big the culture Hololive has gotten.
I remember during the Mori -Lean drama a bunch of Twitter snowflakes tried to purge through her private account " problematic points" to validate themselves stuff like that is going to become more, and going forward .

Has anyone stopped to think maybe she planned this. Maybe she wanted to quit. Made her money, got bored, and wanted to do something else, but didn't want her old fans coming to her new shit. Her whole gimmick is pretending to be your girlfriend, how do you solve the problem of fans that wouldn't be able to let go? You add a boyfriend into the mix.
Problem solved. But i don't know for sure, I'm not a mindreader. Its just a thought though.

As entertaining as rrats can be I feel like anything beyond an Occam's Razor perspective is just a bit unrealistic with how dumb most people are.
