In case this hasn't been posted, a Canadian army major committed career suicide and is being granted a two minute hate by all regime media outlets.

Up until the mid 20th century most cites did exactly that, a lot of those tracks are still there. They aren't the first to bring it up. But what do locomotives run on? DIESEL ENGINES. So there would be more bugs whining about fossil fuels. Can't win.

That is true, and a lot of cities still have cargo trains run right through them, it's just with how big most cities are nowadays you wouldn't be able to get goods to the suburbs without vehicles. Though I guess in their bugmen utopia they want everyone to live in apartment blocks, so it might work in a kind of Kowloon hellscape lol

You'd need multiple rail lines coming in and leaving the city in every single direction. It's not like a truck on a 12 lane highway, every single track is a single lane. The logistics alone are staggering
