The "muh kids at the protest" thing could be dangerous. I could imagine the government finding a way to use that as an angle of attack, maybe by planting a kid and an undercover "family" at the protest or even using an actual incidence of child abuse (anything from an actual pedo trucker to a parent spanking their kids). "Truckers defending pedophiles and child abusers" would be a very useful headline (hypocritical as it may be for the media, but hypocrisy is their game) and it could give the police the moral ground to start taking kids away and defeat the convoy.

Pedo truckers or not, taking kids away is probably what will turn this into an actual riot/Tiananmen Square incident because none of these guys will respond well to CPS bullshit. Many of them probably will deal with that once this is over given they'll be facing Capitol Protestor treatment.

Tomorrow will be hoards of people at all 3 locations. That super stage they set up in Ottawa has booked a full compliment of speakers and musicians. Both Dr. Malone and Dr. McCullough will be on video speaking. Bernier is providing a pancake breakfast. Sunday will be busy too.

My prediction is that the gestapo will move in early Monday morning in the 3-4am range. They will pry open vehicle doors and arrest all 'occupiers'. They will use reservists, police and whomever else they can get to help. They will all be wearing all black with no insignias or badges and full balaclavas. The truckers will all go peacefully. Everyone will be routed to a central facility where they will be ID'ed and detained. No recognizance bonds will be granted and it will take days or weeks to get in front of a judge for a bail hearing.

Moving the trucks is a more difficult proposition. If they do not have enough stasi to capture the entirety of the scene quickly, the arrested will merely be replaced with more protesters. There was talk of bringing in removal services from the USA but unless the US fucking Army comes in I still don't see that as being enough. But with people removed and the grounds held by law enforcement they think it will end. Maybe it will. Maybe it will spark a civil war.

I generally sympathize with the likes of Strong Towns and NotJustBikes (not the whole 'having to live in a dense city' bit though) but the chances that any car-centered locality in Canada or America will voluntarily level itself to be rebuilt by amateurs who most likely don't know how to build a city that doesn't need to rely on cars is a pipedream.

It's funny you mention the 'having to live in a dense city' bit because Strong Towns and Not Just Bikes also have videos supporting things like streetcar suburbs and the garden city movement (which is personally my favorite model for North American urban design, it's classic pre-WWII Americana) which doesn't 100% mesh with the hyperdensity that the bugmen types tend to like, in that there's a lot more parks and less 60 story human anthills. It's a bit more dense then the current 'cars only' North American model but it just fills in that missing middle and doesn't take it to an extreme.

It is puzzling. They used to be experts at inserting spoilers into any rebellious movement. I would have expected dozens of reports of sexual assault by truckers, interviews with actors posing as neo-Nazi truckers, bomb threats and other hijinks. It could be as simple as having a guy pose in a jacket with a swastika patch in front of a bunch of the trucks and photographing him, only showing the shoulder of the jacket with the patch and leaving out his face. Just like the Youngkin rally photo with the guy who had the brand new Confederate flag patch on his jacket.

All the neolibs work together so I would expect the teams that handle this stuff in the US could have gone to support Trudeau. Maybe behind the scenes is just a huge clusterfuck with everyone on Trudeau's team trying to blame and push responsibility onto the others.

The threats are empty. Of course they're empty. Trudeau and Dougie do not have the manpower or the political will to enforce them, and they physically cannot move the trucks. Even if the government arrested literally everyone, threw them in jail for the rest of their lives and fined them billions of dollars they don't have, the trucks still would not be moved. Hundreds of thousands of tons of steel have to be moved to dislodge these protests, all across Canada, and that isn't happening unless the truckers do it themselves.

My gut feeling is that Dougie honestly would prefer to put the entire pandemic behind him (hence all his half-assed measures + his openly anti-mandate daughter), but the medical-media fear complex + party/bureaucratic inertia is forestalling these sorts of moves.

Honestly I feel like the US offers an exit ramp since many of the states are essentially seeing the virus as endemic thus breaking the narrative, but it will take guts to actually start turning the steering wheel.
