If he's smart and benefit of the doubt that he's smart enough to recognize the problems with his channel and is seemingly taking back control while keeping the -much despised- Screenwave crew strictly behind the camera. But if he is smart, he will do a low budget more grounded horror film. Maybe more of a psychological kind of thing or slasher or something. Something you could easily make for $10-50K. He should stay away from Indiegogo and Kickstarter. That way he's not obligated to deliver on rewards or answer to fans and can take his time with the project. Get financing the traditional way or spend a little chunk of the savings. He already has all of the equipment necessary to film and that's a big part of the process and can often be the most expensive aspect.
At first, I thought that would be a great idea, or James could do some ARG horror youtube videos like the local 58, Gemini Home Entertainment, Blue Channel, and many more.

But then I actually remembered, that he used to do that, with the Mimal. James can't do horror. He's most likely afraid of failure that he sprinkles his horror with comedy (unintentional or not) so when it gets criticized, he can make a "it supposed to suck, its a goof!"

I guess I better preserve all posts I make in case there's another forum reset.

I never saw this BTS video before about the AVGN Games episode.

It's very amusing how out of touch not just James but Mike and Ryan are. Granted, okay, this came out in 2012 on Game Trailers but even then people were using capture cards. It seemed like the problem was how James captured the footage. Either that or Ryan or Mike took advantage of James' utter cluelessness and sold him on getting a new PC or how James' puts it: "A PC computer." Seeing him aim his camera at the screen to record playing the rest of the games on his Mac was a sight to behold. That's DSP-tier. Even though the quality of capture was very good and didn't look like he aimed a camera at his monitor him complaining about how difficult it was to do this is peak cringe.

I'm gonna say they were out of touch. I don't remember when this was originally posted on the channel

but that Game gear set up screams i don't know what the fuck I'm doing. I'm sure there were capture cards at the time that would have been easier than whatever monstrosity richard cooked up.

Or he could have just used an emulator.

The first video in 2022 was very refreshing and brings me some nice memories about VHS tapes, especially when he talked about recording on them. The part where he showed a Berenstain one gave me a chuckle. Very good video overall.

The second one.... not so much, but I don't think it's very bad either, most of the video is just him rambling about examples about reboots for the majority of the video. The actual review is okayish. I really hate to say it, but the sponsor part gave me a chuckle seeing James in a chef outfit trying out the knives. Unsurprisingly however they aren't worth the price and they aren't really made in Japan, but actually in China, though to be fair given it is a sponsored video on YouTube it shouldn't come across as a surprise.

i dont think the OG gameboy can be capture carded. its analogue.
I think they could have used a super gameboy for the SNES and just captured the TV footage directly.

I just had a thought: what if James wants to keep playing as the Nerd long enough so he can pass the torch to his daughters?

I think they'll eventually want to make a Youtube show and with James' clout they could be making money off of it from a very young age but i think James' biggest nightmare is seeing his daughters making a skit about shitting on a plush dolphin's blowhole. So i don't think it's gonna be AVGN related or perhaps a way more watered down version of it.

Ads are something we’re gonna have to get used to. Not just with James. A lot of people I watch on YT have ads for Raycon, Raid, and Express/Nord VPN.
I’m talking Gun Channels, ASMR channels and more. What James should do is make a patreon or something. But yeah this video and the past couple have been much better. A step in the right direction for non AVGN content.

James is the only person in the universe that likes Sam. Most of the comments are baffled at that, and if you've watched Cobra Kai then you probably agree that she's the worst character who gets any kind of focus. The video is another James lazy review so he more or less goes over what he likes in the show without going into specifics most of the time and sort of summarizes the plot, nothing fun but it has no skits/10.
