I've been blackpilled on the state of Canada for while, so I have extremely low hopes for how this all turns out (which is why I've been doing everything in my power to get out of this country for good for greener pastures).

I will say: American Kiwis, if things go bad up here in Canada, use us as a cautionary tale. Canada is what America will look like after 20-30 years of Democrat dominance and the dismantling of your constitutional rights, as well as a reformatting of your political system to "avoid the two party system".
Move away from the two party system at your peril. Canada has as many parties as you want, and yet it ends up being one big globohomo liberal ruled blob of politics where they do the same thing regardless.

Your enshrinement of your fundamental freedoms in the constitution, and the difficulty it takes to take those away is one of your greatest strengths. Fight tooth and nail to retain it, and treat anyone who threatens it with the highest degree of suspicion. Hopefully one day I will join you, but if not, godspeed regardless.

Turned up another video from the weird shit going on in Coutts tonight. (Archive) These cops/militia/whoever are armed to the teeth and at least one of them appears to have a NODS rig on his helmet. It gets pretty tense during the last 1:09 -- one of the protestors is extremely upset that they've arrived with rifles, safeties off, when there's kids around. He repeats with increasing agitation "Why do you guys have guns?? We don't have guns! Put those away, there's kids here!" The unmasked cop with the pistol finally puts his safety on, but I never see the rifleman's finger move. Skip to the 2 minute mark to cut to the arrival of the riot cops and the start of the argument -- or don't, because the early part of the video shows there is indeed at least one child caught in the middle of all this.

Canada's police much like American police are heavily militarized. Post 9-11 most western governments have been getting alot of mid to late 2000s gear surplused. Knowing Canadian RCMP they have special weapons and tactics here as well. (SWAT).
They're definitely prepared for something to go down. While the truckers have been peaceful and everyone is calm all it takes is maybe the police brutalize or beat to death or shoot a protester and who's to say some protester doesn't go behind the lines and shoot a leaf officer.

It's old school nobility power-broking. You see, the global regimes will give an inch or two so long as the populous is docile. This is so that they can be seen as having some sort of noblesse oblige, when in reality they are reaffirming their power to give and take-away at will.

In Canada it is different, the people are in a tumultuous state, and are demanding something. It could be anything not in the government's interest, but in this case it is the end of vaccine mandates. If the governing elites give in here, it sets a precedent there, and globally, that mere peasants have a sort of role in governing despite legalistic dictates saying otherwise.

This is why we have the Biden administration effectively demanding that Trudeau must quash the protests. Several US Gov agencies have apparently offered help to that effect. I am sure the European governments are putting much the same pressure on Trudeau, but because they are vaguely more competent than the Biden admin, they are able to keep it quieter.

Then of course you just have the fact that these people are Technocratic extremists. Trudeau and his core cadre were already inclined to not give in, so the reasons combined with the above, mean that they won't give in.
