Canadian Truckers Convoy 2022 - The Leaf calls you a Nazi as he gasses you

Not sure I'd call it a Pathetic time to be a Canadian - just a pathetic time to be a Canadian leftie. The right here has managed to trigger such a REEEEE from the government that we're now a full blown international incident, triggering conversations about rights and freedoms. Even then, all Trudeau has done so far is seize some bank accounts and continue to try and posture with glass fists about the beatdown he's totally gonna bring any minute now.

Most Canadian lefties I talk to have absolutely no shame at all. They think having martial law over honks is a good thing, and unironically buy the whole MUH GUNS bullshit.

Also, for any curious, here's the gun seizure:

So today will be the formal end to Coots, which has gone on for 18 days. The organizers stated that due to the 'unearthed' guns (totally convenient and not totally planted by RCMP No sir.) They are pulling up stakes and moving on. Hopefully to another protest. Tried embedding video but the Canadian government is really upset about shitposting Canadians.

Lets not forget that conspiracy passes as political fact now. You know "alternative facts". A&Niggers eat that shit up, probably because it's infested with boomers that got their brains addled by primetime news.
I’d say it’s more “right leaning people that’s been exiled from various other news sites and just use this as a refugee camp/new land to just spout epithets and /pol/ talking points with zero irony.
Link to the Act

He's essentially declaring himself dictator of all the Canadas. All protests and gatherings banned. Commandeering of private property with the government having the right to direct citizens to render assistance in any way they see fit.

Summary fines and imprisonment for up to 6 months, effectively a suspension of Habeas Corpus. Anyone refusing to obey government directions, even if not taking part in the protests, will be punished in this way. The government tells a towing company to remove trucks from downtown Ottawa and the owner refuses? Off to prison he goes.

The Act is reserved for major, nation threatening crisis like war and armed insurrection. Using it against a bunch of unarmed and overwhelming peaceful protesters is a ballsy move by Trudeau.

I can only imagine the Act is being invoked because Fidel Jr thinks if he doesn't do something quick he'll be deposed. Of course he could meet the truckers and end the mandates, the provinces are doing that anyway, but PM Faggot Mouth despises the optics of negotiating with white supremacist transphobes and whatnot so here we are.

same people are the type to ask how anyone could have supported hitler and not stand up against the rising tide of authoritarianism.

However, major construction CEOs and farmers have been donating large amounts.

made me lol

Sometimes I have to take a step back and remind myself that this is all happening because some disgruntled truckers parked their trucks and Treadeu is such a petulant child he refuses to even humor them. That is all it took for us to be on the precipice of Tiananmen Square 2: Maple Edition.

No. There is no point in talking with them. They wouldn't extend that courtesy to us, and until everyone slightly right of Karl Marx realizes this, even if the Truckers are successful, we're not really any better off. Repealing Mandates doesn't solve the issue that basically half the population still despises every single fiber of our beings and considers us to be inhuman monsters aligned with the worst of humanity.

It also won't change the fact that if you took General Patterson's opinion on Russia and updated parts like "Russian" "Chinaman" and "Japanese" to be "SJW", "Troon", and "Feminist", he otherwise would perfectly sum up my entire opinon on the modern day left as a movement.

Nova Scotia and New Brunswick both put in unconstitutional bans on protest and assembly, but their people are ignoring them and protesting regardless. The premiers are claiming to be implementing a plan to very gradually lift restrictions in the coming months, but it seems like a Charlie Brown Football repeat of last spring/summer, where they took their sweet time lifting everything, and then after dragging their feet all summer without lifting anything meaningful, locked right back down for fall/winter.

NS: Nova Scotia to start lifting COVID-19 restrictions Monday

NB: Higgs no outlier as he maps end to COVID restrictions

Notably, however, they seem to be doing the same TWO MORE WEEKS bullshit as always. There seems to be a pattern emerging where they automatically lockdown for fall/winter, spend spring/summer fucking around with phased reopening bullshit, and then right as they are going to let everyone be free again at the end of the phases, UH OH, it's fall and there's some new variant, time to lockdown again. It would be nice if they actually follow through with the phased fuckery, but they have done this more than once before, and I do not know if I can just believe public health technocrats again.

Nova Scotia seems to arguably have had some of the most insidious policies nationwide. Not in the openly dictatorial way like Québec with curfews etc, but the NS leadership (both under Libs and Cons) seems to be big on weird postmodern-authoritarian mind games. I remember reading about how, some time ago:
  1. The NS premier announced to much fanfare that he was dropping the mask mandates because X% target of Nova Scotians were vaxxed.
  2. Then he announced the vaxxpass, to be rolled out approximately two weeks after the masks are dropped.
  3. Then, as the mask freedom day approached, he announced he would be pushing it two weeks later to coincide with the rollout of the vaccine passport, because it was purportedly "unsafe" to have unvaxxed people in public spaced unmasked.
  4. Then, on the day before the big day, he rugged; vaccine passport is still getting rolled out, but masks are staying too.
That was the big culmination of the months-long phased reopening project: actually everything is exactly the same, i.e. no restrictions lifted, except you get a vaccine passport too. The level of constant lying and rugging makes it seem like a deliberate demoralization campaign. Also dangling the lifting of forced masks as a bit of sugar to help the bitter pill of vaccine passports go down, only to rug at the last possible moment and force both.

If you look at the actual Nova Scotia reopening plan, they are refusing to even commit to lifting the masks and vaccine passports (opting for ambiguity), so it's not quite a carrot on the end of a stick per usual; maybe a turd. Comparable bullshit from New Brunswick as well. People have had enough, and I don't see it going over well if they keep trying to play the same gambit over and over again annually.

"Alea iacta est."

Don't know what the Convoy people and their supporters can do, but this is a moment for the history books: a Western government is suspending civil liberties over fucking honking.

Canada has literally, explicitly suspended due process.

Hold the line, Leaf Kiwis. Do not let them win.

When the Farms went down for clearing the Ambassador Bridge, it was a little suspicious, but it felt schizo to claim to was related. But then for it to also go down for Trudeau's martial law announcement? These DDOS attacks seem to specifically coincide with the most significant events of the Honkening...

That is also the origin of the word "Draconian." Dracon was an Ancient Greek ruler, who (probably, the historical record is kind of fucked) came up with the bright idea of applying the death penalty to all crimes. This experiment was a disaster, more or less for the reasons illustrated in the above Chinese example.

If all crimes have the same, extreme punishment, then there is no incentive to stay cool and calm. People run amok with crimes upon crimes. For example, in a normal system, a robber might stick to just robbing, because further crimes would cause a more severe punishment. If being convicted of robbery results in a death sentence, then it creates a perverse incentive for the robber to also murder the victim, because the robber cannot risk the victim reporting him to authorities, and the punishment is the same regardless.

Draconian laws conflict with a judicial concept comparable to the escalation of force, where it does not make sense to instantly go nuclear. A gradual escalation gives people a chance to back off before things go too far.

If the DDOS attack didn’t happen, I’d probably be run off here for too much doomposting. Now that Trudeau has gone off the deep end and gone full “crush the rebels and kill the infidels”, I’m just waiting for the moment he sends in the military, or whatever guns he can get his hands on that’ll listen to him without question. I just hope the truckers had put their affairs in order before this started (which would be more doom and morbid posts all on its own).
I will reiterate, mostly out of a need to offset the doomposting - Trudeau cannot win on any PR front in this.

1. If he caves even in the short term, he's effectively defanged his own side.
2. If he goes hard, he looks like a fucking idiot before the entire world and functionally guarantees this not only happens again, but gets worse the next time it does.
3.; If he shits his pants and does nothing, he somehow, impossibly, looks even more weak and limp-wristed.

My take is that the most likely thing he does? Option 3, while trying to make it look like Option 2.
Both sides are now in the “Victory or Death” stage of the cold civil war. Even if things don’t get hot, there’s no middle ground at all. History is written by the winners, and we all know how the losers are treated.

That’s one down. Give an inch, they take a mile. Not a good sign. And now that the cops are really following, I’m just waiting to hear about interrogations and torture to get who people are answering to and who sent them.
that's one border crossing. what's happening everywhere else?
No clue. But morale can’t be good after Emergencies Act and money being seized and donors being doxed.

Wanted to post this earlier but the site has been iffy for me.

Drove near downtown Ottawa on Sunday afternoon (came in through the Chaudière bridge, which was the only one open). Traffic was slow-moving but not jammed up, surprisingly. Police were turning away pickup trucks with flags and freedom stickers at the Portage bridge, which was completely closed.
The highway 5 bridge was fully closed from what I could see, police were turning people away at the exit from the 50 to the 5 (I think the other option is exiting onto Maisonneuve, but I'm not fully sure.) I saw a few restaurants with signs saying they welcome truckers.

Passed the War Museum and there were trucks parked there and camping out. I thought the police kicked them out, but they were actually fencing off the area and stuff.

TL;DR: lots of traffic and closures in Ottawa this weekend.

One thought was going through my head the whole time: how was this allowed to go on for so long? It's an awful look to have your capital basically shut down for nearly 3 weeks. :heart-empty:Ottawans are pissed, the honking (from truckers and just random people pissed about the traffic) is constant. I think it might be pertinent to mention that Ottawa isn't like NYC, where honking and sirens are pretty common to the point where they become background noise. The fact that people are irritated enough to honk because of traffic is a big deal to me.

Someone mentioned FLQ already, but I think Trudeau wanted to avoid a military intervention at all costs, prefering to let the local police deal with it. This obviously did nothing, the Ottawa police having been significantly weakened by Covid and just generally sucking. Gatineau police is even worse, so asking them to help is out of the question too.

I guess things are about to get a heck of a lot worse with these new emergency measures. I was being incredibly optimistic thinking that the military wouldn't be deployed since they're busy with whatever clusterfuck is happening in Ukraine. :c

Wish us luck, non-Canadian Kiwis. We're gonna need it. :semperfidelis:

The crazy drunk lady behind Trudeau is getting Canada into a war with Russia; sending weapons to Ukraine.

She's being groomed to replace Trudeau once he's outlived his usefulness. (Which is basically any minute now.) I think her grandfather was a Nazi collaborator, but my memory of that story is fuzzy and this is just a sidebar.

I think we're taking rapid steps towards quite severe state authoritarianism, with the peoples consent.

I believe it's like Yuval Noah Harari argues in his book "Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind": the moment the first plot of farmland were laid down by hunter-gatherers, it was basically over for the hunter-gatherer lifestyle for all of humanity, no matter the downsides of the farming lifestyle or if you wanted to keep being a hunter-gatherer, despite its inefficiency compared to agriculture. You just can't beat the raw benefits of agricultural society, even if being a farmer fucking sucks.

The powers and benefits of authoritarian states is simply too great, especially when compared to the lunacy that is allowed to propagate with unfettered access to information through the 2020-normie-Internet.

That might explain her panic attack from what I saw on that tweet. https://twitter.com/RiseOfTheProles/status/1493383004936458244 Althought other posters said it could be a side effect of the jab.

She looks tweaked. Freeland was probably backstage with Justo doing lines of blow in the shitter.

Edit to clarify: Look really close at her mouth under her mask. Its like she's wagging her jaw or grinding her teeth. Could be blow, something speedy or a mix of both.

This is how I imagined they were going to get the truckers out of there. Its not the first time feds have conveniently found something that gives them an excuse to do what they want. I'm still hoping they will go somewhere else and cause the government a headache there. They really should just reinforce Ottawa.

On a side note. I think the real winners are the live streamers getting those superchats. 💸

Nova Scotia has been gulping down the fear koolaid. The health care system was in full collapse prior to covid, so everyone was terrified to overload the system. They became the most compliant jurisdiction on the planet for masks and vaccines. They falsely believed the restrictions kept them safe, when in reality covid never came to Nova Scotia because NO ONE comes to Nova Scotia. It was just a coincidence. And now no one wants to let go of the masks and pointless hand sanitizing rituals.

The other thing about Nova Scotia that may have a role in the collective fear mentality, is that there was a mass shooting rampage by a man impersonating a cop at the beginning of our lockdown. There was massive police failure and coverup in the wake of it, and there's a sort of collective ptsd. People just wanted to be safe, and do whatever the government tells them to do.

The conservative government that just came along and inherited the draconian restrictions is trying to slowly wind them back, but more than half the population is cowering in fear. Some people are still keeping their kids home from school. There was just an announcement of the province's first child covid death. People were angrily blaming the government for opening schools. The kid's family just came out to say he actually died of kidney and heart failure he fought since he was born.

All that said, there are some freedom-oriented Nova Scotians. Like this poor kid's family who took time out of their suffering and loss to say that his life was not about fear, and his death shouldn't be either. 💔 I know a few people out protesting here and in Ottawa.

The people talking about starting a bank-run are unfortunately wrong.

Central Banking combined with the infinite money printer that the Canadian government also has, effectively renders a traditional bank run impossible.
____
For any Canadian invested in something like Bitcoin, especially if it is on one of the exchanges like Coinbase, yesterday was the time to move it to something like a self-owned Samourai Wallet and do a "whirlpool" and use the privacy features therein. The next best time to move the coin is right now.

Bitcoin is not anonymous by default, but can be made to be so. Take precautions, start reading, and really get dug in up there, as the governing powers up there look like they are going to go after just about anything the don't like now.

Ahh finally back.

So far this has played out as suspected. The little dictator is going to selectively apply his newfound power to border crossings and "critical" infrastructure (for now) and use everything to punish the truckers and those supporting them for even having the audacity to stand up for themselves. The "emergency" banking laws are especially egregious because I seriously doubt those will remain emergency-based for long; if you saw Freeland speaking yesterday you know she's salivating to turn these into enshrined law because fuck the plebs amirite?

The number of people happy with having the boot rammed down their throat is utterly disgusting. If you cannot see the problem with a bank manager being free to unilaterally freeze your accounts whenever they feel like it you really aren't fit to be part of society.

Governments tend to be reflective of the people and its hard for people to admit but there are large and growing groups on both the right and the left in the west that want more authoritarianism to push their worldview forward.

Watching adamnucci stream and it feels like there's more schizos out today. Did Frei actively avoid the crazies and I just didn't notice?
Also yesterday afternoon there was somebody talking on the stage about how he served in Afghanistan and something and the chick shut him the fuck down, did anybody catch what that was about?

I was locked out of here by DDoSery until this morning! I really missed going through yesterday's crazy developments with you guys 😿

In other news, Peter Sloly resigns as Ottawa's police chief.
Wonder if he was shoved out so Ford and Trudeau could dump in some piece of shit that will tow the line and start cracking skulls. The War Measures Act: Part Deux is so fantastically villainous and over-the-top that if you had told me they'd try it I'd have just laughed.

Trudeau is fucking finished after this, he's not smart enough to survive this politically and being associated with his brand is like doing a photo-op with nuclear waste. The questions are:

1) how much damage will he do on the way out?
2) how much will the fucking champagne socialists/terrorists in the NDP and pea soup faggots in Gaybeck let him get away with as he promises to not touch them/increase the gibs?
3) will it be Freeland or Carney that takes the reins and just tombstones the country to impress uncle Klaus?

EDIT: just as I wrote this we get this:

"Important context on Sloly's resignation. Yesterday Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino told the Globe the RCMP and OPP are “assuming shared control and command over the operation in Ottawa." https://t.co/O30VZZ3JnK

lol the Feds and Provincial police gonna take over and start cracking skulls instead

After Turdo's pivot to follow Hitler's footsteps yesterday, all the fedposters are going to come out of the woodwork. Next few days will make or break the Ottawa protest. Thank God that the protest has become a global movement, because we're going to see wavering on the parts of many of the Canadians who began it.
