General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

We're back! For now. How kind of them to keep us from posting about all the Valentine's stuff going on. Probably for the best anyways.
I wonder how long this troon storm of a DDOS is gonna last this time round, I've only just got back on here now as managed to find a location on my VPN that will connect to the site (thanks null Atlanta did eventually work).

Oh well, back to somewhat scheduled posting!

How I imagine Null network setup right now:

She's back. I guess she reactivated her Twitter account.

Very shitty translation, but from what I understand this is the gist of it:

She's talking about the fabricated lies being spread. Apologizing for causing concern. And mentions that she's considering opening a case against the people who originally spread the rumors. Which is the third time she's had to contact the police in the past few months (doesn't say why). And that she apologizes if she has to delete the Tweet if asked to do so by the police.

Rushia Roommate Update

Just saw she put this Tweet up on her IRL account (Must have restored it) as she tends to delete shit pretty quick, grabbed everything I can. I think it related to current events? judging by the rough Deepl translation I got? No idea, not trusting the translation too much.

Of course archive as always: https://archive.ph/qOUyl

Taken me like 10 mins to upload these images, god damit, this ddos shit is a pain in the ass.

EDIT: 25 mins later.... She deleted it, Checkmate. Glad me & @Tatsunoko saw it in time, Group effort indeed.

I looked her up, why is she Genki? Glad the boss of vtubers is highlighting so many smaller streamers.
I guess genki wasn't the best way to describe her, but she's pretty giggly and always seems to have fun whenever she's streaming. She doesn't really leave a lot of room for dead air which is a pretty a good quality to have as an indie

Alright so it's official, Ames streams have been my favorite vday streams thus far. I love how she doesn't take it seriously and jokes around yet she has streamed more than most of the rest of them, her viewers are unironically who she is spending time with on Valentine's day lmao.
That plus three hours of S O U L definitely made her streams the best yesterday

Reactions: Bonbi bonkers
Nachoneko (Gura's mama) moved to twitch and now is getting 7k-9k views average compared to youtube (1k avg) without using the vtuber tag. And the chat is free from the usual western cancer spam and memes, seems that japanese behave way better in this aspect.

Pikamee also gets like 3x her normal viewer count on Twitch than she does on Youtube. I always thought Vtubers were bigger on Youtube, and wouldn't do as well migrating to Twitch, but I guess that isn't the case.

No way to know anymore. Nobody working at YouTube has anything useful to do, so they're just wrecking shit. Rather than merely count identifiable viewers, live stream numbers now are calculated based on the quality of a sample of the viewers. This especially fucks up vtuber numbers, presumably because vtuber watchers "act like bots" (mass subscribing to new accounts, chatting for sometimes days before a premier goes live, repeating comments, etc.). YouTube did this in a way that maybe they don't know how to—and they definitely refuse to—fix. The error is causing tubers to move to Twitch, enough so that the falsely lowered YouTube viewer numbers are becoming true. "See? We were right not to 'fix' it."

That depends: Nacho went to Twitch to only stream Valorant for a tourney (i think she teamed with a famous JP player on twitch, hence the rise on viewers) and even if its over she is still streaming there. Curiously, the english speaking viewers from youtube didnt move to twitch; if you see the chat, is 99% japanese.

Edit: Just to clarify, im not numberfagging in favour of Twitch, i actually dislike their cancer chat and raid culture, also how most vtubers tend to pander to the western lewd/degenerate fanbase. Nacho content is a rarity in that pool of twitch vtubers. I just hope she & her chat doesnt get corrupted, but thats too much hopium from my part considering how the Vshojo & orbiters side of twitch act.

Both platforms are ran by complete cockmongers, it's a loss to us either way. Youtube's search as well as how it handles VODs isn't fucking attrocious, but it's well on its way there. I wouldn't mind competition popping up all of a sudden and putting both platforms on a hard place just watch them try to unfuck the damage they've wrought to themselves.

I think Gura has COVID brain. I join the stream and the first thing I hear is Watashi wa barf. Then she started to use her shake weight. This was about an hour into the live stream.

Youtube seems to be actively fucking with everyone's CCV

Heck, when people complained how Polls sometimes get more replies than viewers, Youtube just said "It just shows an active viewerbase". The fuck you mean a 2k CCV stream having 8k poll answers just means the viewers are active
I noticed almost exactly this on Riene's stream, she seemed to hover around 1.8 viewers but 80% of over 8000 votes like corned beef.

Yeah she still sounded a bit rough but tbf VR games fuck with her sense of vertigo anyway, and it's hard to tell what meds she's on. Shork was probably at least partially trying to play it off by acting loopy to cover the fact that she felt like hurling. I'm glad she's back though, hopefully she feels back to her normal self soon.
