I read what I consider to be an excellent post from a Swedish forum, written by what I assume to be a swede living in Canada. I've tried to translate it as best I can:


"It's difficult to explain how we fare here in Canada.

If you were to translate the situation to a normal swedish family that lives in a house in Stockholm, it'd look something like this:

- You're not allowed to bring people home anymore. You are, however, allowed to socialize with them on the plot/lawn.

You've now lost both of your incomes. You're not allowed to work and make money, no matter how desperate you are. You're not allowed to go to work.
Loans must be payed. Food and bills must be taken care of. The clock is ticking.
The children ruminates at home. Football and hockey practice are shut down for a year.
The schools are closing down completely. The kids sits at home with their Ipads and solves various puzzles the teachers distributes through the Internet... for several months. They're mostly playing Call of Duty with their pals, though. Zero physical activity. The situation is naturally the worst for those who lives with their families in cramped space.

Your kids want back to hockey practice? Take the vaccine. Your teenage kid wants to go to the movies with the girlfriend, or eat at McDonalds with his friends? Just take the vaccine. There's no coercion. I mean, it's not a human right to go to McDonalds or play hockey, right? (personal note: I'd love to argue to some leftie on how it's not a human right to partake in the societal logistics provided by the truckers).
Slowly and steadily, people are starting to rebuild their lives and get back on track. Almost 90% of the population takes the vaccine and vaccinates their kids.
At this point, you've had to sell your house and rent a smaller one.
Boom! Superinflation. The housing market takes to the moon. Gas is up by 100%. Natural gas (which you heat the house with) is up by 200%. Rent rises rapidly... and new lockdowns are implemented. Omicron is here. You have to close your business again. The wife is declared non-essential once more. Credit cards are maxed out. You're riddled with debt up over your ears. There's no way out.
Then, the government puts out new demands, threats and mandates. The same government you've done everything to appease during the last two years. This is the last drop.

This is where people have had enough and the convoy starts.

It's precisely all of this frustration that is being conveyed through the convoy. To boil it down to solely being about "anti-vaxxers" or some "puppeteered protest" is so disingenuous and vile that it's downright ridiculous.
Trudeaus handlers takes the whole thing very seriously, as is evident by the fact that they've dusted off and activated the emergency act. It's a sledgehammer, and a last resort.
The provinces have already relented and removed the vaccine mandates.
Trudeaus federal minority government stands completely alone with the peoples wrath. The only thing they've left is the emergencies act. A week to try and starve the protest, and perhaps resort to violence.
This has been a long post, but people have got to understand why the situation is the way it is, not to diminish two years of hell to be about some fucking vaccine mandate."


In short, it's always been about the sheer incompetency and overreach of the Canadian socialists and cultural marxists. It's infuriating to read what the mainstream media is writing about this (or what they're not writing about this, considering what I'd deem to be an abysmal amount of coverage by the usual suspects), especially after the way they covered the murderous shenanigans of BLM during the 2020 summer of love. It's all so very much on the nose. They really have dropped all pretenses at this point.

I don't think violence will work at all for this because the enemy is not really the actors but the ideology itself. It's not the politicians or the journalists or the activists that are behind the dysfunctional ideology that causes this. It's the ideology that is behind the politicians, journalists and activists. Comitting violence on these people don't harm the ideology, it just validates it. But directly fighting these people trough non violent mean doesn't necessarily harm the ideology either. Embarrassing the ideology, disproving it, or living in a way it seeks to prohibit harms it. That's what this convoy has done to some extent, with the resulting aggressive response from the politicians.

It's probably this distinction that has made it so difficult finding effective means of fighting this stuff. If you target the people involved instead of the belief system they operate under you're fighting inefficiently.

I think living human beings working underneath woke progressivism should be considered less as actors with any real agency and more like lackeys. Or slaves. They are not the enemy, the ideology is the enemy.

The Canadian right has been spouting "Defund the CBC!" for years to no effect. Heavens, my first awareness of political bias comes from my childhood in the 90s, where a CBC source called the Liberals "the natural ruling party of Canada". It's been that bad for at least that long.

The day CANNOT come fast enough, but alas, the hope that I will see such is slim, given the machinations of Canadian politics.

To my fellow leafs: I've shared a lot of blackpills previously, and unfortunately so far they've been coming true (imo).

So, given the recent developments, this isn't going to be just more dooming:

With the declaration of the Emergencies Act, a line in the sand has been drawn.

Every leaf here that feels strongly about these events needs to make a choice: Do you want to escape this tyranny by emigrating to freer lands, or do you want to stay in Canada and try to change the course of the ship. Because unfortunately, while the choice was obscured before, now they've made it extremely overt that participating in the protests will strip you of everything. And throw felony level criminal charges on you for protesting or supporting, making emigration to somewhere like the States essentially impossible.

Personally, I've chosen the cowards option: get to the US legally, and fight tooth and nail to preserve freedom there in a country that actually cares about freedom and has the legal and intrinsic abilities to maintain to do so.

For leafs desperately trying to get out, there are still ways. Personally, I see Canada as Russia in 1918. It hurts to abandon my homeland, but these days America resembles the Canada I remember way more than the bughell we've become.

One of the reasons I'm so blackpilled on these events is that I am bug daywalker. I live in a super bughive, in a super bug industry, and everyone around me in daily life is max bug. My IRL "friends" are all ultra-Liberal supporters, so I know exactly what they think about these events. If the protests overtook the cities, I'd probably have to desperately stammer out my secret allegiances as I was strung up as just another bugdweller.
And let me tell you, the memes about NPCs blindly believing everything that's in the MSM and regurgitating it is 100% true. Even people who are reasonable and intelligent in many aspects just have this chip in their heads where they turn their critical thinking off regarding news completely, and then just blindly believe and repeat whatever the CBC farts out without even thinking. And I have no idea how you could do that. I've been privately trying for over a decade with some of these people, and I've found it impossible. So, rather than trying to convert everyone around me to think the way I do, I'd rather just move to where everyone already thinks like I do.

Escaping this country isn't a quick or a simple thing, it will likely take at minimum a year of hard hard effort to put yourself in the position to do so. But with 5 years of effort, almost anyone in this thread could put themselves into the position. So, if you're on the fence, the best time to start getting your affairs sorted out was 10 years ago, but the second best time is right now.

To the people who are going to stay and resist: Godspeed. If I didn't have the ability to escape, then I'd be with you. But I can't choose that hard life, not for me and my family. TPTB in Canada are strong and completely united, and it will be an extremely tough battle. Those that continue to resist are far, far braver than I. And I give you the utmost respect.
