I shouldn't reply to you because you're just a trolling cunt but when I drove across the US 1-80 was closed due to snow, so I detoured down to LA and took 1-40, which, due to freak weather, eventually also closed due to snow. I was at a truck stop and asked a group of truckers if they could help me with a way to get from Amarillo to Fort Sill without going through 1-40. One of them asked if I had an atlas, which I did and went back to get it. When I returned they seemed impressed I actually had the foresight to keep one around and a group of them proceeded to pour over it and mapped out a route using local roads they knew were open and passable. It was great, snow hadn't even hit some places. I stopped at truck stops along the way after that. Two truckers, one white and one black, best friends, begged me not to go to NYC (I should have listened). Another told me to drive behind him in Virginia so he could break up any ice on the road.Dude seriously.
I completely get that the truckers have every right to be pissed off about a policy that is completely unfair. It makes no sense at all to demand that they get vaccinated. I really get it.
But that doesn't fucking elevate them to some status of glorified freedom fighters. Truck Drivers are frankly, mostly, plain downright fucking cunts and just because they take a position you happen to support that doesn't make them angels now.
They are cunts. By and large. Cunts.
And after Covid they will still be fucking cunts. You will curse at them when they are on the road cutting you off just like you did before and you will not be pulling them over to give them BJs because once upon a time the trucker took a position you supports.
Like I said, Cunts.
That trip was one of the defining events of my life. Having grown up in Northern California, San Francisco to be exact, I was as liberal as anyone else in that town (and it's really a town, not a big city). Because of bad weather I spent several weeks in Oklahoma and had all my beliefs about the South dispelled. I took my time for the rest of the trip and learned so much about the South, and my country. Truckers can be really nice. The South does not have the KKK hiding behind every tree and post. There are really nice folks in the South and the events of the Civil War has had effects that are still felt by the residents to this day. The food is really good there. I mean there was a hint of Deliverance out in the sticks, but that was rare, and if you go to upstate NY and New England there is white trash there too. I should have stayed in TX or OK.
No one is putting truckers on a pedestal but you shouldn't put them down because you don't know how to drive on the road. They'd be happy to teach you.
