Hasbro announced a figure of Shadow the Wookie, it’s literally a Chewbacca painted black with new armor……… and it literally looks like blackface. The bright pink lips just bring it all together.

The lack of any gradient or drybrushing really makes it look like that thick paint they used for blackface back in the day, I’m amazed that this went through.

Isn't the Black Series brand supposed to make better looking figures? It's like they don't even bother anymore.

Watching some of the clips, I have to admit the action isn't as good as the young me thought it was. The strength of Desperado is its Tarantino-esque bullshitting scenes, amazing soundtrack, and the way Rodriguez, who was also the editor, flashily tied everything together. The action is the weakest part, so it's more of a sum-of-its-parts kind of deal. For the time, I'd rank it a C+, though that's like an A compared to today's nonsense.

Can't forget that sex scene too!! Whooo-man that was hot!

Jesus FUCKING Christ, how much of the Star Wars Timeline exists just to whore out tie-in media for the parks at this point? You've got the terrible Black Spire novel starring some forgettable black woman that the licensing department literally just invented to be the mascot of Galaxy's Edge, you've got Timothy Zahn shoe-horning a scene where Padme tries out every dish on the theme park menu (yes, that's real), and now you have Han and Leia spending their honeymoon aboard the new cheap-ass hotel ship [Tell me, do they get ferried around in the Falcon, or one of those food trucks?]

There are people out there who will accuse the Prequel Era of being nothing but a hollow excuse to whore out the franchise for more action figure money--I want those same people to take a nice long look at this, as Disney literally commisions lore to justify their shitty theme park, and tell me with a straight face that anything we had before during Lucas' tenure even remotely compares to this.

Also, if anyone wants to read Han and Leia's honeymoon story without it being a retarded theme park tie-in, I recommend Tatooine Ghost...which is the story where Leia comes to grips with Anakin's childhood and later Tusken slaughter. The book also dovetails directly into The Thrawn Trilogy.

Who's to say they're going to try to have Anakin goes back to tatooine and ends up finding one of the Tuskan raiders that escaped his slaughter as a way to guilt trip Anakin into apologizing to them similar to how the good old white colonists slaughtered native Americans only to repay them by giving them reservations to live on. You heard it first from me if this happens.

So Old Republic got a new cinematic trailer. Obviously of lower quality than the previous ones, but the conflict between Padawan and Master actually doesn't seem as abrupt or stupid as they usually do

I like how they're exploring the "Jedi left Anakin's mom in slavery" angle, I always felt like that should have played a much bigger role in his fall to the dark side. In general these cinematics have been really great stuff, it's kind of a shame they're wasted as promos for a sort of decent MMO. "Deceived" and "Hope" were more entertaining than the entire Disney trilogy.

It definitely doesn't look as amazing in quality compared to previous trailers, but at least the animation is still serviceable and the story still seems to carry more weight and complexity than anything by disney or Filoni. Also I appreciate that they've decided to re-introduce an obscure pre-disney world (Elom) and one of its monsters for this expansion rather than having the expansion completely revolve around something from the OT, KOTOR or Filoni Wars, however its kind of undermined by having Manaan from KOTOR take up the majority of the focus while Elom just feels like a boss stage with only one enemy, although at least the ranphyx here actually looks like the ones from the source material and it has pretty good textures instead of just being 99% recycled assets (even though it still seems to be using the standard quadruped enemy skeleton and animation as a basis.

This game is being re-written from the ground up, without the approval or consultation of Drew Karpyshyn or any of the original writers. That alone, especially with the track record of the current LFL regime, is reason enough to be worried even with the absence of Sam Maggs, and almost a guarantee that it will be an inferior story compared to the original game.

The graphics might be better. The combat might be better (doubtful, but who knows). But the story won't be better. And for KOTOR, that's not a compromise I'm willing to settle for.

But chances are it will be just a gayer remix of the original or at the very least a "faithful remake" with a genderfluid option like that gay squadrons game since Lucasfilm reps on twitter keep insisting that this game isn't going to be a part of DisCanon and that a possible KOTOR substitute will be introduced afterwards made to fit with Discanon shit.
