Every time I see the “involved CHILDREN in the protests” I always assume that they’re mad as fuck that the truckers co-opted that from the lefty playbook.

Doug Ford has closed down the loop around Queen's Park. It has been closed for a couple of weeks now. Doug is fucking terrified that trucks are going to park on his front lawn. He is totally willing to paralyze the city to make sure it doesn't happen. This is right atop hospital row and the path for ambulances from the north to the nation's premier trauma center is blocked - by the government. It is insane.

So Bloor St is probably where our crying Kiwi lives. That is where all of the activity has been taking place and people gather and honk. Let me tell you, rent in that hood is huge. 2k for a basement shithole. I have no sympathy for anyone who lives in the city hearing noise. That's what you pay the big bucks for. I guess its time to hire your cat a shrink.

Living in a big city seems like it would be a nightmare you can't wake up from in a million different ways that would cause you to die of stress at 50 and yet people pay a premium to do it.

I dunno, maybe you get used to it or something.

- job
- nightlife
- restaurants
That's it.

I get suburbs cause it's a good compromise, but so many people want to live right smack in downtown areas where it's expensive and dirty. I'll never understand lol

I reckon a part of it is people getting sold a big lie similar to how kids think college is the place to be. Media incessantly glorifies city living and paints the idea of a high-rise apartment as some kind of aspiration.

Then once you're in there you end up committed because before you can realise the mistake, you've got a job there, you've made friends there, and god forbid you signed a lease on your pod.

Plus if you're young and single I guess it's nice to be near fancy bars and restaurants and cocaine.
