Why does it matter where the donations are coming from? For one a major part of this protest is about truckers traveling from the US to Canada, so this is an American interest in part. Two, what's wrong with America you greasy shit smear? Are we some sort of terrorist country now you fucking nigger?

It's like "muh Russia" argument here, only far more stupid. 90% of the Canadian population lives within an hour of the USA. One of Trudeaus biggest threats is he will strip the evil protesters of their right to enter America. The USA is not some far away and menacing evil empire. For many Canadians It's where they go to get groceries because the Wal Mart on the other side of the border is the closest store to them.

As a Texan I'm all too familiar with this. I'd take any family-oriented Nigerian, Mexican, Vietnamese or Central American immigrant over (usually white) Californian leftists/progs any day. The Nigerian Texans are practically model citizens and completely different from inner-city black Americans and the Mexicans already have centuries-long cultural roots here (they're distinct from the Tejanos however). Vietnamese is the third most spoken TX language and culturally they've acquired the Texan spirit far more than the vast majority of northern and western whites who have moved in and turned small-town frontier Texas into suburban sprawl and HOA subdivision hell. You should see the difference in housing prices of old-school libertarian hippie Austin 10-15 years ago compared to the corporate conglomo craphole it is today.

I can imagine it. I lived for six months somewhere that was definitely louder than whatever you're experiencing, in an industrial zone with machinery and workers bellowing at the top of their lungs incessantly almost all day, only shutting down for the period of roughly 2-5am each night (abruptly followed by shrieking and tools before the sun rose). I was smack in the middle for work reasons and it was too hot to be able to block out even a little by closing a window. Earplugs did nothing.

It was an interesting experience to learn that your brain adapts to that shit after about a week and I was able to sleep like a baby regardless, after that uncomfortable adjustment period. The protests have been going on longer than that, I suspect the difference is that I simply had to accept it, as opposed to being a fucking bitch baby who tortures yourself by taking it personally.

If soldiers during WW1 and WW2 could manage to sleep through artillery fire, then I think most people can adapt to all the commotion they would hear living in a big city.

Can see the banks taking advantage of the crisis to take a cut of everybody's bank account. I can't remember what country did it but a few years ago the same was done. Emergency act to justify shutting down all bank accounts, then the government took %25 of all savings as part of restructuring the banks.

The massive backlash to Castreau invoking emergency powers has just made it very clear which side would benefit themselves more. If this shakes out right for them they will probably get 10-20 years of uncontested political rule. However that won't change who they are and, eventually, they will exploit that power for personal gain at public expense just like Liberal party right now.
