Please keep an eye on BC this weekend. The division here between pro and anti mandate is pretty strong and I don't see this weekend's events remaining as calm as it has been up to today. With liberal speds heading to block these convoys from going anywhere, things are going to reach a fever pitch.

When I was a child we still watched TV because that's where video about current events came from. Some place named Iran, which used to be called Persia, had a bunch of people protesting. When that was outlawed residents opened their windows or climbed to the roofs and shouted "Death to the dictator" for hours every night. Weird but OK, Then within the span of a month there was a general strike, the king (called the Shah) left, some angry looking guy flew back and the government of Iran collapsed. Protesters then stormed our embassy, took our people hostage and you know the rest. Oh and the next year Ronald Reagan became President, making Carter a one hit wonder, which stunned a whole lot of people, especially my parents. And it all began with a bunch of protesters in Tehran.

People dooming here fail to understand this has destroyed the legitimacy of Trudeau's government, and anyone supporting him. It's a huge blow. When you look at events like the Iranian Revolution of 1978, you see certain conditions like unemployment, dissatisfaction, forced societal change and disproportional force brought down on the general populace can bring down a government everyone thought was safe and secure, and it can have an effect in other countries as well.

Canada was supposed to be an example of a true democracy. It is clear to everyone it is not, and people are now forced to take sides. This is only the beginning. The glowposters in this thread are desperately trying to sow fear, uncertainty and doom, to minimize the significance of this, because they know the lessons of places like Iran. Because as much sympathy as I have for the Iranian hostages, the truth is it was full of glowniggers who propped up the decadent Shah, a man who barely spoke Persian and let his CIA trained SAVAK loose upon the Iranian people to torture them in an attempt to force compliance. Iranians were not mad at them for no reason. As it was, the glowniggers took a massive L.

And Chrystia Freeland will also fail and take a massive L. Call me optimistic but it really is happening as we watch.

I think I might have seen this when I was doing a live stream sweep, people were screaming out "I need a medic!! I need a medic!" over and over again, but I couldn't see anything so I moved on.

This was discussed a few days ago. They will bring in cheap labor to replace them. Sure, it might be rough on the economy for awhile as they rebuild that part of infrastructure, but it isn't a killing blow, more of just a brief inconvenience.
