Honestly, I think someone killing your pets / abducting your children is reasonable grounds to fight back. Even if you might die, if you aren't willing to stand for helpless things that depend on you, you are already dead inside.

Then again, there are plenty of people who have no loyalty and would slit their own children's throats to be spared from a threat. It's disappointing. People were a mistake.

But here we are.

I am confident that I could not be forced into slave labor by the government threatening me. I would probably ultimately die, but I have the soul of a killdozer. There are lines you just don't cross.

I see where your coming from in that the convoy wasn't just annoying, but where's the cutoff for protesting in your eyes? Can you literally only stand in a government approved areas, during government approved times, and shout only within government approved decibel levels? Even if you don't consider Canada to be doing anything wrong, hypothetically what would you even do against a genuinely oppressive government? At some point if you want people to care about your protest you have to cause disruption and I think the acceptable level of disruption falls between honking and burning random businesses.
