Agreed. I live in a rural area dominated by people who think they are self sufficient, but almost all of them are completely lost without some form of technology helping them.

I'm convinced the only truly self sufficient people may be the poorest of the poor in Cajun country and Appalachia, and they probably give even less of a fuck than I do about the rest of the country at this point.

Yeah I think people don't realize the truckers left to try to protect the foot protesters from getting hurt, but the foot protesters are hardcore and aren't leaving. Blaming the truckers when they're going to get punished anyway is just silly. They didn't leave to save their own skins, they know the police have their info

Any one of these truckers can just drive to the US and claim (legitimately) political asylum after the heavy handed crackdown, and Quebec/Manitoba/Saskatchewan/Alberta have not been appreciative of the heavy handed government tactics even before an old woman got violently trampled by horses.



Not sure where you live but the supermarkets around me are usually poorly stocked lately. Walmart's meat section is pathetic.

Also imagine thinking that just because you're vaccinated means you support the mandates/vaxpasses

In principle, I agree. But if the events of this week haven't woken up Canadians, they're already beyond hope.

Which, again, would be the entire media narrative. The Ottawa Police tried to say that a bicycle was thrown that triggered the trampling of the old woman and the guy in the brown jacket. We all know that is bullshit, but the media will parrot obvious lies.

So why the fuck do you think it'd be a good idea to start attacking police (who again, are WANTING a violent response to justify their own actions as well as the actions of Trudeau's fascism) when you'll get beaten harder, charged, and be propped up as a terrorist.

Exactly. Who would watch the last three weeks thinking the truckers were wrong and then have a 180 change of heart watching the last trucks getting towed?

Whatever message was sent has been received. I love these people and will help them in whatever way I can.

Some people take more blood to wake up than others, this is also playing out on the world stage. I don't want protesters to be hurt, of course, but their willingness to pay the cost of conflict with their own blood instead of others is a valliant, if perhaps risky, gambit.

Turning tail though seems like a play that ends in varying levels of defeat, and your momentum crushed. You really do need attention and numbers to keep it going. Maybe after the initial protestors are tortured and gone their second wave will take revenge, or maybe they will feel like the situation is hopeless and roll over for their masters.
