Normally I agree that if belligerents don't get out of the way of riot animals, tanks, police telling you to move etc then you have no room to complain you got hurt or more. Problem! Still not the same comparable situation. As someone mentioned before the horses are great for crowd control since they can slowly push back the crowd with their weight, and there's also the intimidation factor due to their size. I get the impression the protestors didn't expect the hoss canucks to actually give the order to do what they did. The ruling class is made up of people. Fear is a big motivator for people. BLM got politicians and most of corporate America to capitulate to them because BLM was insanely violent, and never let up on it. I'm not endorsing violence but violence is political power.

But it's also optically horrible, and probably only effective if it's very coordinated. The left's protests wouldn't be so effective if they weren't violent in such a monolithic, coordinated way. Anyone who calls for peace at an antifa/BLM riot is bullied for shifting the narrative.

A protest should either be uniformly peaceful or uniformly violent. Conservatives aren't capable of the latter due to principles, the "honorable loser" streak, whatever you wanna call it. Violence is very effective but these guys shouldn't use it because they can't and won't go all in on it.

I think people are not realizing the implications of what has already happened.
Many ignorant people honestly believed the government at their word that the mandates and everything was only temporary for a pandemic.
By refusing to lift them in the face of such opposition is proof that they are going to be non-negotiable forever.
