In my day, they DID teach about the stock market crash. We SAW PICTURES of the bank runs. And that was in a time when bank runs had to be pulled off live and in person. There was no internet. Imagine being out running errands or taking the bus home from work only to see the equivalent to Captain Tripps being released in real time.
That was BIG.

Kids and young adults have nothing to frame this against--nothing to compare any of this to. And with technology, it's easier than ever to hide the severity or even how wide spread the information is. Nothing.
I've even said that I suspected for over a year now that when places removed mask mandates, they kept them in schools for a REASON: Kids will know NOTHING ELSE. And those kids will run for office somewhere eventually. They have ZERO INTENTIONS of stopping this.

The only way to stop this will be at the business end of a gun or a rifle. In meatspace.

Your post reminded me of when I was in highschool (late 00s, yes I am an old, no bully pls). We were learning about the holocaust, and I asked my teacher why the Jews were targeted - because they never explained that shit. It was just ~and then the Germans rounded them up~. Anyway I'll never forget his reaction, it was like half panic and half threatening to send me to the principal's office if I asked again. It was so insanely weird.
