It's self selecting. There are many smart ones who transition into serving the laws in ways that are more meaningful then being shows of force.

You are at the end of the day, a tool of the state. Being dog doesn't really allow you to do much in the way of changing it for the better. At best you follow protocol, and maybe even spend some of your shift doing cool things like getting my car off the freeway.

At worst you realize the system of checks and balances to ensure you're doing your job in good faith are very poorly enforced... and get ideas.

It's by design. If you took over the government and ordered these same cops to bash some antifag skulls, they'd do it, no questions asked (besides maybe the 5-10% cops who sympathize with them who'd quit). The vast majority of police do exactly what they'd told, no questions asked, and they need to be doing some insanely evil things before they start doubting themselves as good people.

It absolutely is the majority. They're legit trained to be this way. The days of Andy Griffith are long over. Modern law enforcement are trained on the idea of being paramilitary, and the paranoia ingrained into them makes them view *everyone* as a threat.
