They would have to widely admit that transitioning doesn't always solve their problems. They would have to campaign for higher standards of care, when they themselves have frequently said that any standard of care or barrier of any kind is gatekeeping and bad. They would have to say, publicly, that these surgeries are complicated and require more training, which would mean they were less available, which of course is unacceptable.

In short, they have had a LARGE hand in creating this problem in the first place, and NO troon journalist is able to, or would be allowed to, admit anything so damaging to the movement.

The thing is, gender dysphoria is a mental illness. No other mental illness is treated with mutilating surgeries. We don’t give anorexics gastric bypasses. We don’t give BIID patients amputations on demand. I don’t think gender dysphoria should be treated any differently.
