On the contrary, what makes this whole event interesting at all is because it’s happening in Canada. For years, if not decades, people in countries all around the world have been predicting the civil unrest that kicks off the next global movement would happen in America, because our culture is kinda predisposed to being loud and belligerent, and our politics are no exception, so the fact that this is happening in Canada, who by their own admission consider their politics boring, is this massive curveball to non-Canadians observing this event online for themselves.

I mean people seem to forget if you want to see what Illinois has in store for you in 5 years look at what canada is doing now.

Everyone is expecting the US due to it's craziness and guns but people forget how close Canada is to the US and how much their political culture has disenfranchised the normal prairie Canadian.

While on principle what she is saying makes sense and is easy to agree with, she is oversimplifying the issue. This didn't become an occupation to undermine the democratic process.
