tldr God made a bet with Satan that Satan couldn't turn Job against God. Satan fucked up Job's life bigtime and he still didn't turn against God. God shows up, tells off Job's friends, and restores Job's good life tenfold as a reward for his unshakeable faith.
Job was chastised for questioning God, but ultimately vindicated. His friends kept telling him that his misfortunes must be as the result of some sin he has committed and if he just says Uncle then God will grant mercy to him. Job says no, I am guiltless and God is punishing me anyway. He doesn’t really complain but he does sort of question him at the end. At the end God chastises him for daring to question him but also punishes his friends because “I am angry with you and your two friends, because you have not spoken the truth about me, as my servant Job has.“
