Diseased #Comicsgate - The Culture Wars Hit The Funny Books!

50,000 hours in MS Paint. I am now the greatest Comicsgate artist. @FROG is in trouble.

To some Texas Autism news, it seems like years of YBZ recording videos in the parking lot of mcdonalds around the country had caught up to him and he will be ordered by doctor to clean up his eating, because his acid reflux coughs are getting over 9000...
Simple Zack is worried that his upcoming doctor visit will result in a diagnosis to stop living off reheated salt and gristle from Walmart.
Incredibly bold prediction: Zack's doctor will finally tell him to lay off the Whataburger and frozen breakfast burritos and Zack will comply until it requires more than a half-assed effort. He will then return to his old dietary habits and accept the worsening acid reflux until it wears a hole in his esophagus, the whole time rasping that "it's not that bad".

And I know this is out of nowhere and it's not really germane to the thread, but I was very late in realizing that Kwanza and Mark Waid's H1 (HUMANITY FIRST!) imprint tanked. Of course, I can't imagine anyone was surprised about that but I'm sort of stunned there were no victory laps, especially from Zack. He used to hate review those comics often and I figured if anyone had a reason to take the opportunity to piss on H1's grave it would be Richard of all people. But nope, nothing. There's not even a sad corporate press release from Waid, no YouTube videos, nothing on the internet to indicate that H1 died except for their Wikipedia entry stating they became defunct in February 2021. I just thought that was kind of weird.

but I can't recall YBZ mention any European comics other than maybe paying lip service to Moebius. I do recall Ethan mention European comics on Nasser's stream once, in a clip that was posted here. Of course it was to cover his ass on lateness of CyberFrog and other projects. Ethan said that Europeans have it right in that comic books are worked on until they are done. Of course, he failed to mention that production values are much higher, books are bigger, better, they cost less on average, no one asks for money up front, and that everything arrives on time.
Given Ethan's and YBZ's takes on manga, I doubt that they know much about other foreign books or could say anything interesting about them.
YBZ has mentioned reading a European comics while in the army and libraries when he was broke. So he has a healthy appreciation for both European and Indie/Arthouse comics but it is the rants about the SJWs and the nostalgia that brings in the views.
Frog sees comics way differently than most of us, since he is a veteran creator, the same way a butcher sees a steak unlike most people.
But European comics come in an oversized format and 48-72 pages long hardcovers that cost about 15€. Now, if you take something Requiem Vampire Knight, The Cimmerian or Elric next to Cyberfrog, they look different, more artsy for sure but I'd say CF looks as polished (and often as late) as them.

Humanoids H1 unofficially died around the start of COVID in 2020. But they externally refused to admit it and claimed that the whole thing was just on "hold" until the world situation changed. I think everything stopped as far as people and work in the spring of 2020. I think Kwanza was gone before that from ignited. He might have silently disappeared from the credits of ignited even before COVID.

Humanoids H1 was officially wrapped up in 2021 when they digitally published all their already finished remaining issues of all the series all at once. But almost nobody noticed that it happened and it was so long after the previous issues that nobody much cared anymore. I'm unsure if the issues were actually physically printed or sent to stores at all. I'm also unsure who was actually still even working there at the time of the final release. I'm not sure that Waid even had a job there through which he could issue a press release.

The last issue of ignited is terrible. It features villains "the doxxhound" and "the influencer". They take away the kids powers and the book ends with the kids driving off in their stolen pickup truck to save the world through non super powered social activism.

The last issue of "Omni" features the main character purchasing a cruise ship for all the H1 universe "mutants" (igniteds) and setting off to sea. The cruise ship has plants on the deck which makes it a "biosystem".

The other thing that was generally forgotten by Comicsgate and Richard was the sequel to Kwanza's crowdfunded series "Black" which was non-ironically titled "white". That one died in the dark too.

And on another bad comics note, Donny Cates's Hulk book keeps moving on. With the fourth issue, he got the center of his story which is basically an alternate-earth story where General Ross is basically a President Trump-like character seen through the SJW lens. On his earth, he sent robots to kill the x-men and then dropped a nuclear bomb on Xavier's school to finish things off. The issue also features a bound and hooded Peter Parker being (possibly shot) & thrown out of an aircraft personally by President Ross (Trump). The whole thing is just embarrassing. He spent three issues setting up his whole wacky "hulk is a space ship" story only to set up a dated "I don't like Trump" alternate earth story which would have seemed stale four years ago.

:story: Only if that truck has a loud horn.

The rest of your description was predictable, after that. I'm glad I never went further than the first issue.

God, that all sounds fucking stupid.

It looks like Humanoids is still offering the H1 books in digital form and the remaining physical floppies (up to the point where they went digital) as well as softcover trades. Ignited even got a digital omnibus. The H1 stuff isn't featured on the site and it's kind of a dig to even find it. Seems like they want to keep that turd buried in the litterbox.

Still, it's weird to me that Zack didn't even mention it after reviewing many of the issues and seeming to enjoy how very awful the whole enterprise was. I would have thought for sure the crash and burn of a comics imprint involving three of the most vocal anti-Zack personalities in comics (Waid, Kwanza, and Mags) would get a final roasting/eulogy as a "fuck you". Zack could probably have squeezed a 20-30 minute video out of it, which is really 10-15 minutes if you don't count him chuckling to himself and coughing.

And that's why I hate it when Comics Gate r.etards claim that western comics are dead. It's fucking disrespectful and disgusting. No, western comics aren't dead, just Marvel & DC. There are tons of great comics in Europe and the yes, also the US. But these clowns ignore it because their tiny hate boners for the big two cut off the blood supply to their peanut brains.

Also if western comics are dead then there is no reason to buy Comics Gate comics and there are already not a lot of good reasons to waste money for that crap or do these idiots think the term "western comics" doesn't include them?
You have to keep in mind that these people likely do not know that Euro comics are a thing that exist. For them, “Western comics” might as well mean “American comics”. Tintin is literally the only Euro comic with any degree of pop culture exposure here, and that ended back in the 70’s. I couldn’t tell you WHY, but there’s been zero effort on the part of publishers to market Euro comics in America. Maybe with the success of manga, some more companies will realize that there IS a market for foreign comics in the US and make a more serious effort to import and market them.

I know my question is beating a dead horse at this point, but how do people make something like this unironically?

Sounds like all forms are flop-pies

Well, you could make the argument that "that was then, and this is now." Maybe FROG learned something from all that. The whole thing about SJWs clipping shit out of context seemed a bit autobiographical. Still, I don't know if he fully comprehends that's gonna happen regardless.
That's why you do interviews either live or record them yourselves as was the case with Avi Yemeni being "interviewed" by Jim Jeffries. The same guy that "reached out" to Rich Meyer.

Cates is also working on Thor, which was streamed about last issue when it turns out the hammer was actually a galactic storm and a woman. Decided to check that out instead of Hulk this week and

Now Mjolnir is having her period in space

ComicsGate is an absolute necessity. The creatively bankrupt stretching of the classic comic characters is resulting in some truly bizarre and horrifying writing.

And to mix up being a guest with being a co-host.

I didn't mix up anything.

@TheCosmicWarrior Are you going to suckle @theralph's gunt?
I don't see the point of you going onto a stream that usually has 300 viewers.

I stream for fun. I enjoy it and like to laugh and entertain people. I've been on streams like Critical Blast that get 3 viewers. I was on Unsafe Space a couple weeks ago which gets a lot more than that. If it sounds fun, I'm generally in. I'll even go on Liam's stream if he's not a chicken shit faggot who has smug pug drunk cope screaming about how I'm a coward for not being there when I'm blocked from the chat and no one sends me the link to come on. I might not have time to stay for all 4+ hours of whatever rant he's on that day though.

We joke but I suspect that's exactly what this is. Start a fake feud with Gunt by triggering him on his show with the Blair Won stuff and then hope to milk some manufactured content like he sees Warski, PPP and a few others able to do. Gotta do something now for tard-bucks since the Testefy Outrage grift is over.
Nah, if he actually trolled Ralph during this appearance, I'd kinda have to give him kudos.

Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure he's gonna play it straight. Which will be lame. "Gee golly Ralph, thanks for inviting me on the world famous Killstream! As a Catholic, I HATE Abortion. Can't abort the Retort! Yuck yuck yuck."

Case in point...

Slap yourself, Jon. Nobody is entertained by the Killstream anymore unless it involves Ralph having a meltdown or literally shitting himself.

Ya know Jon, if you did troll him, you'd actually make MORE sales from it. I can pretty much guarantee it. People would throw money at you on general principle.

Just sayin'.

Probably true, but I am always nice to people who are nice to me. Maybe that's a character flaw these days on the internet but I try to do right by folk unless they're fucking with me and my friends.

Fun fact, that’s almost word-for-word what Rekeita said before Ralph turned on him for daring to laugh at a Gunt Shart.

That's admirable, but I think what I and others are trying to tell you is that you should have passed. Not all publicity is good publicity. Ralph is circling the drain so fast these days that there's a perception that the only people he'll be able to get on his show are literally whos and the other detritus of the Internet.

But you do what you want.

Yep!

I'm sure you had a real heart to heart discussion about Ralph's child and alcohol abuse like a true Christian friend might. Too bad you forgot to denounce everything he stands for. Well you didn't forget, because you stand for the same grift he does, Jon of the Gunt. As long as people let you push your dime store comics, you don't care what they do.
