After what I saw happen in the United States after Trump was elected in 2016, I fully cottoned on to how bad the rot really was at the higher echelons of government and across society in general. All the mythology about how America is a shining city on the hill and how the ideas enshrined in the Constitution are sacred is complete horseshit when it comes to the people in charge and the dumbfucks they've brainwashed. They're all part of a global club that views most of us as subhuman garbage that are wasting their oxygen. No laws or rules mean anything to them and they will do absolutely anything to anyone (even each other) to stay powerful, rich, and surrounded by opulence.

What all that is to say is that what just occurred in Canada isn't a surprise to me at all and yes, it absolutely can happen here. If you weren't "prepping" to rely only on yourself, family, and trusted friends for your own wellbeing after what occurred in 2020, you need to start doing so immediately.

I mean it's not weird to see British colony turn authoritarian given the records of the UK and Australia, but the speed and severity this happened has shocked me. All the stories of people having their savings stripped away because they donated a couple bucks to, and I'm quoting the Trudeau regime, a protest is still kind of surreal to me. It took just a couple weeks for things to get that bad.

You can't find 5.56 NATO ammo anywhere for love or money. And it's not because the government is restricting supply. It's because the manufacturers can't keep up with demand. How do I know this? Purely anecdotal. I was checking for a friend.

I’m not shitting bricks yet, but I’m concerned all the same. I didn’t donate much, but I don’t expect to see myself being allowed to enter Canada anytime soon. I really do wonder if my trip to Quebec as a kid really would be the last time I step outside of the United States.

I take solace in knowing GSG will hold on to the money and won’t capitulate to the Canadians within the foreseeable future, but I do worry that freezing bank accounts is going to become the next popular tactic of the western democracies to deal with social instability in the near future, and Trudeau has established a terrifying precedent.

What frustrates me particularly is the fact that the lefties online who are cheering all of this happening don’t understand the ramifications and think that they will be fine. I asked someone this question on Twitter the other day and they responded “Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.” They really don’t think they could ever be victims of a totalitarian purity spiral.

Anyway, I’m taking what few preventative measures I can as this narrative unfolds. I finally got my Uphold account verified after almost 5 months of waiting, so I’m using it as a starting point for crypto trading. It couldn’t have happened at a better time.

I’m already planning to set aside about a thousand dollars in precious metals, possibly more if I move back home and don’t have to pay rent anymore. I really do think whatever kicks off in Ukraine is gonna eviscerate both our economy and especially Canada’s.

As utterly fucked as the (real, unofficial) approval ratings of the federal government are right now, I don't think they can pull it off. You would see non-Minecraft succession attempts.
