Even if they could import a bunch of people overnight, onboard them, and get them to be half as efficient, I’m skeptical in Canada and the West maintaining its appeal. The appeal of the west is that it’s 1. Wealthier and 2. Freer.
Suddenly ejecting all those workers will tank the economy. That will make it less desirable. Many of these workers will be mad and won’t take to scabs kindly. If they want to put up with corruption and being told to lick the boot, they can do that at home. Moving to a new country, learning a new language and customs, is a pain in the ass. If the economy tanks, there’s unrest, and freedoms are restricted, there’s not much incentive to move. Keep in mind many of the protestors and skilled laborers were migrants to begin with. In many ways third world countries are freed because their governments are too inept to enforce any laws.
The question you should be asking is “How far will Trudeau go to purge undesirables?”
It seems clear he’s emulating his adoptive and biological fathers in every way possible. He’d be incredibly foolish to escalate further, especially considering that this could spill over down south.
