Yeah. I feel that a lot with Contra's videos. I get that breadtube is mostly just explaining concepts in the most basic terms over and over but with Contra you can tell that it's not that because Contra's videos are almost all really poorly understanding and explaining both psychological, sociological, and economic concepts, most of which seems (by Contra's own admission) to be self-derived rather than coming from a place of studying these things extensively, listening to others, etc. I stopped watching Contra after I think the Justice video (maybe before) because it was just really, really badly explaining psychology, and I felt that exact "dude you're not as smart as you think you are and we're not as dumb as you think we are"

The issue is that a lot of people are that dumb, and the ones who are especially dumb are the ones who are most liberal with their wallets.

Like, I suppose I don't understand what anyone suggests Contra should do. I can't agree with the tranny shit because it's fucking insane, but outside of that they probably feel disconnected and unimportant because they are rather disconnected and unimportant, and they probably feel like they have to be the smartest person in the room because they do have to, since they're not especially strong, have never been exceedingly attractive, and don't seem especially outgoing. If they didn't convince people they were intelligent nobody would listen to them.

They probably talk like they're speaking personally to people and being emotionally transparent because that's an incredibly effective tactic for swaying people if a person can pull it off, it's the kind of thing cult leaders specialize in.

No, lesbians won't necessarily want to bang you, but despite what internet lefties seem to believe people can feel and express a great deal of affection towards each other without fucking, and vice versa.

I really just think Contra is one of those situations where the very thing that makes them successful in a career sense cripples them in a personal sense, which especially in this day and age is sadly very common. Being as detached as people have become success often means developing a mindset where you have to be in control and never show your belly.

I've never been a contra viewer, I've only seen clips and analysis, but people behave the way they do because it works. From what I've seen I think if Contra tried to change his ways he'd just become a broke lonely incel instead of a lonely incel. He's simply a bit of a misfit.

Like every time Contra posts about some personal issue and gets hundreds of handmaidens sharing empathy and concern I think Christ, that's me, caring way too much about people who would let me starve, listening to the problems of people who would never do the same for me, etc. all because they put on a show.

To be fair the sad boy gambit has worked on about 90% of all women since the beginning of time.

Although I think that's just further evidence that nobody sees Contra as a female because chicks would probably be ripping him to pieces if he was actually another woman.

The problem with that line of thinking is that Contra admits not being into politics while badly explaining politics, makes random, uneducated guesses about psychology, and spends the rest of his time just talking about himself. There's lots of youtube channels that break down academic ideas for people who don't read but want to feel smart, but Contra's content isn't that. Contra basically just makes overly elaborate vlogs for depressed zoomers. Even a quick watch of any of Contra's content makes it obvious it's not very substantive.

Ollie makes my blood boil but I've said it before and I'll say it again: the man has a work ethic and some degree of acumen.

He puts out (terrible) videos every month, hires talented people to create them (while running ramshod over their creativity), directly engages with activist movements (pissing them all off) to get his (giant) face out there, grifts for BBC interviews and speaking engagements, appears on multiple (awful) lucrative podcasts, has (minor) acting gigs with well respected actors under his belt and is in the process of producing a (shitty) one man show to be staged in the near future. It's going tits up because he's an unlikable untalented posho narc, but he puts the work in.

Contra? She does opiates and solipsises, creating one video in the entire last year and struggling to do even that. Contra has more natural charm, likability, humour and taste but no real drive to do anything anymore.

Nyk won't stop because he can't. Idk if you guys have seen this interview/therapy session between Contra and youtube's therapist Doctor K, but in it Doctor K explains to Contra that he's so fixated on the ugly tranny because he's constantly worrying that that's what he is (this pattern has gone on longer than Contra's transition of course) Because narcissism comes from a place of deep self-loathing and doubt, he's constantly fishing for compliments, looking at pictures of ugly trannies online and thinking "well I don't look like that" and avoiding being too close and intimate with actual women despite the fact that that's what he wants, because his ego can't take the idea that he's really not that special or particularly attractive. Even in the interview with Doctor K he's constantly blaming all his anxiety and fear on the evil, nasty internet, while Doctor K keeps reiterating that it's all him doing it to himself, that he's been doing it for longer than he's been a youtube personality, etc. Given that this interview happened in 2020 and Contra hasn't let go of the narrative that it's all the internet's fault for making him feel and behave this way and refusing to accept responsibility for his own actions I don't think he's going to change any time soon.

Absolutely spot-on. I wouldn't blame anyone for doing poorly in Nyk's place, if I was the one in front of a camera with a live chat with hundreds of people commenting while some professional spits brutal honesty about my personality in front of the entire world I might get defensive and irritable in the moment. But what happens when the stream ends, you sleep on it, and then pace around your nice apartment the next day? I feel like nothing changed because Contra saw it as an opportunity to pursue this branding as the sensitive, vulnerable breadtuber that moves alt-right neo-nazis to tears and not an actual opportunity to reflect and improve himself as a person. It isn't surprising that the videos put out after this interview were almost all doubling down on putting blame on the internet for triggering his compulsions.

That and Nyk comes across as a very visual thinker, which I can somewhat sympathize with. When I think of a story for example I don't think of it in words like it was written down, I picture it more like a comic book or a storyboard or film. Trying to translate that purely into words is pretty difficult for me and I think Nyk would have the same issue

Yeah I get it. Perhaps some of it has to do with the sort of media a person consumes during their formative years and what they grow accustomed to?

Or maybe it's more utilitarian in the case of Nyk. So much of trans ideology relies on the assumption that it's possible and desirable to become a living, breathing optical illusion (you know, "crossing gender boundaries!", "biological self determination!") so dressing up, putting on ten pounds of makeup, wearing long nails, dressing in lingerie (like in Men) and shining a pink light on half of his face are a way to show the world that he's an honest to God woman and a shining beacon of the vitality and potential of transgenderism uwu

Rather than "He wants to be able to write and share ideas but wouldn't be good at it", I think it's "He wants to create entertainment videos but is too lazy to do more than the bare minimum". He writes the way he writes because he spent years in academia. It's easy for him to churn out bland first year level essays in no time, that's what college trains you to do. This is his kitchen, where everything is dark wood, you can see a corner from his dishwasher and he still has that disgusting rug on the floor. Remember when I first posted that rug here in the thread? Imagine how immensely more disgusting and caked with bits or food and Nyk's "home chemistry" it must be by now.

This is one of the few shots of a window at daytime. Look at how Nyk is using that stack of books and papers as a door stop, LMAO!



As you can see, Nyk's house as an angular sky light overlooking the staircase. On the right you can see how the paint is peeling of the edges of the angled part. This means that the house still has the old paint job and Nyk did not bother to paint it over when he moved in (scrooge).

Here you can see the room with the grand piano from his piano Livestreams. And there is the rug he ruined with red food colouring when he did his Marie Antoinette shot. (FFS, just get it professionally cleaned Nyk, you have the money.) As you can see most of the floors are wood and varnished, but in the room with the grand piano, Nyk has place some kind of a cheap white vinyl sheet over the wooden floor.

So, no, Nyk does not live in "an apartment", Nyk lives in a huge Victorian mansion that serves as a studio and a living space.
