I eventually adopted it as an identity label because it was easier to reclaim it, even though I'm generally NOT a bitch, than to fight them on it.

Thats weird for me since in my country, bitch ( the equivalent in our language ) is almost always used with the same connotation as whore, so its weird to me see some american women using it, anyway, thank you for the insight. I mean some use, but always in the first person was a way to say "i really angry" but i don't think that its the same situation, since man also use the masculine version of the slur for the same purpose.

And i feel sorry for you, a parent should never treat their child like that.

My main takeaway from this is that 19% of trans women in that sample are HSTS.

The only stat I have to reference is that there's been a 1460% increase in boys referred to the Tavistock Clinic (the only clinic in the UK that treats children) over the last decade. This probably is Not How Stats Work but if that held true across samples then this would mean there's been a 277% increase across a decade for HSTS referrals, and in 2018/19, 119 HSTS boys were referred to the Tavistock Clinic (out of 624).

Still a lot but that could be explained by "greater awareness" etc. Certainly those feel like more reasonable numbers.

ahaha, I've been wanting to do this forever but haven't had the time.

Holy shit, that's great. The troons are doing it for us.

The idea is you develop an AI model and you feed it images paired with male or female. Over time, with more data and submissions, it'll get better at sexing the troons. (Though developing an AI model like this is fairly difficult.)

But still, the internet is chock full of butt ugly troons (as well as some troons who try a bit harder) spamming their terrible selfies everywhere. With a little bit of effort, one could probably put together a really good algorithm for clocking trannies.

(Though, and this would be interesting, I bet depending on how it's designed, it might start picking up on ancillary cues that the person's a tranny, like if they've got their face makeup'd to hell and back, but there's like doritos and mountain dew in the background, that might be what the algorithm picks up on to sex them as male.)

They're not usually trained specifically on selfies deliberately designed to trick the viewer (and therefore the algorithm). If you start from the beginning to detect liars, that's a more specialized problem.

This is the core of everything. The growth in trans ID'ing is entirely by fueled kinky but otherwise straight people fetishizing gay people and wholesale trying to appropriate the space and culture (with this working best for the straight men, naturally). I'd bet that at least part of the reason AGP's are so much more willing to troon out now is that the possibility of an authentic lesbian (tm) relationship being legitimized by society means that they don't feel torn (like the dude in the tweets above) between perving on women and wanting to be one, the way they would when the assumption was that they would have to start chasing men as a trans women. And they are convincing gender non-conforming kids like Jazz Jennings that what they need isn't to just play fairy princess and settle down with a dude later in life, but to have horrific amputation and a total removal of sexual function to be happy.
