Canadian Truckers Convoy 2022 - The Leaf calls you a Nazi as he gasses you

Last few pages are historical sperging and debating forms of government. I'm guessing that means there's been no new developments?

No important developments in Canada right now, but that's just based on my definition on what "important developments" are, which is the appearance of new convoys.

However, there are multiple humungous convoys of trucks and tractors in numerous Italian cities right now (e.g. Palermo, Naples, Ravenna, Bari, Taranto, etc.). Apparently, truckers and farmers are protesting against a 25% increase in gasoline price.

All footage is courtesy of @RadioGenova on Twitter. There's a lot of footage of the Italian convoy on his account, trust me; I just picked the most notable ones. Once you go there, you'll realize how big this thing is.

Mild bit of curiosity here. I believe I saw somewhere further back in the thread that invoking the act means full scrutiny after the fact going "was it used correctly, were innocent parties impacted etc." Now I know that as per usual when these people investigate themselves they never find evidence of wrongdoing but is Trudy going to try to claim there should not be this investigation because he got rid of it so quickly?
There will be an investigation, it's required under the act itself and Trudeau even had to admit one will be held in the next 60 days. As you said though don't expect anything to come of it - but given this is a minority government and the NDP will want to avoid getting sucked into the depths of permanent irrelevancy there might be some fireworks over it. Pretty good situation to force an election over too one might fathom :cunningpepe:

Recall a couple of days ago when Freeland announced the banking portion of the Emergency Act would be made permanent.
I wonder if that's still in effect, even with the Act withdrawn.

Would tend to jive with the two steps forward, one step back.
Far as I'm aware, the banking portion is now off the table either until Trudeau reenacts the Emergency Act or gets legislation passed through Parliament to sign off on him having those powers for good.
Yeah my understanding too is that any transformation of the banking crap into permanent laws must get through Parliament in a separate bill. Going to be very interesting seeing if that's still on the table or if it'll be memory holed.

Oh, in case anyone thought the Conservatives were anything but the lapdogs and controlled opposition for the Liberals, Doug Ford (Conservative Premier of Ontario), has now announced that he too will be cancelling the State of Emergency he personally declared in Ontario today at 5PM to match with Trudeau. Remember, Ford declared his State of Emergency (with the giant punitive fines) before the Feds even did so.

Remember: Ontario has had the harshest lockdowns and measures in the entire western world, and we are (supposedly) governed by a "Conservative".

The only party that opposed the mandates in the last election was the People's Party of Canada.

Doug ford either gets voted out this upcoming election or gets ousted from his leadership.

Both likely outcome.

But neither good either since nothing better replaces it.

Lose lose.

Huh, it's kinda shocking the he backpedaled given he always escalated this shit. Which show that contrary to what doomers say, the people do in fact matter and the government, even if it wants to go jackboot, has its weaknesses. I say given that the truckers were so effective they made the government shit the bed and go mask off, they should press the offensive and try to reverse everything and prevent this from ever happening again. Trudeau and the Liberals can and probably will try and do this stunt again in the future and I shudder to think what will happen if he tries to invoke an emergency over an election, especially if they site some shit like "far-right nazis" pulling ahead in the polls.

Funny how the imposition and revocation of the literal emergency act can be done instantaneously, but it was "impossible" for the feds to even give a timeline on when they'll end the restrictions. Funny how they can move quickly and make "tough" decisions when it's in their favor, but everything related to COVID restrictions "takes time" and "can't be predicted".

Bonus reddit sperging:

Imagine gatekeeping fucking crises.
These people tend to use a limited set of verbal devices, and I keep mentally checking off the combinations.

I was WAITING for the first time a redditor or a twitterati accused someone of gatekeeping suffering considering how mad they get when you tell them it wasn't that bad. Especially when it's someone who lives in downtown Ottawa, lol.
It's a huge bonus that it starts out with "imagine"

Some people are playing 5D chess
I guess some of us play 5D bingo

Convoy are going back to Ottawa. 100% guaranteed.

Once they do and no police shows up, it's over for the Liberals.

So Trudeau realized he made Canada look like a fascist shithole and destroyed confidence in the financial sector and government institutions over FUCKING HONKING.
No. He didn't realize shit. He got BTFO'ed by like 8 senators, and figured out that they were going to vote against him. This is the equivalent of quitting right before you get fired.

EAT A FUCKIN...CALL YOU AN UBER, TRUDEAU!!!

So let me see if I'm getting this right.

After Trudeau's bull tactics caused a massive confidence collapse in Canada's banking system, the Senate promptly proceeded to cuck him on making his emergency powers permanent, and they cucked him sufficiently hard that he simply quietly withdrew them and then pretended he never overreached while leaving Freeland fucking seething?

....This is real, right? I'm not having another violent, Brianna Wu-induced hallucination again?

I have no idea why they voted along with it. Jagmeet could have just said "it's been resolved. no need to continue." and voted against and gained a lot of support and saved face. Instead they read from the exact same script as the Liberals on something so unpopular it got yanked before the voting was finished.

Strange political move there from a party standpoint. They want to look like a better option than the Liberals, right? Right?

They wrote all these articles about the costs incurred by the protests, they say the bridge protest was $300M and it cost Ottawa $30M, but let's say there was 5000 truckers involved, that's $66k per trucker. So why didn't they just bribe the truckers to leave? If I was a trucker and somebody said if you leave I'll give you $10k cash I would have left, I probably would have left for $2k. It's not like they actually care about costs to the economy though because the vaccine mandates and covid measures did infinitely more damage to the economy than the protests.

UN is backing up Ottawa grunts, fire arms and all.
No they're not lol, all the cops were Canadians (unfortunately)

Not to sidetrack on the news with Canada and their senate discussion, but I spotted an active livestream of the American convoy readying up.

Does it look like it might be time to create a new thread to inaugurate the USA convoy? We can get to observing and archiving early. Let's see just how genuine or gay-op this may get.
Should there be a new thread for the US convoy?
Yes, I love you Amerifriends but we all know your convoy will overtake this thread and us poor leafs still need a space to talk about our 3rd world frozen hellscape :story:
Praying for a non-glowop for you guys too

A mixed economy is a real thing; the US has a mixed economy. There are no purely capitalist or socialist systems.
REAL CAPITALISM HAS NEVER BEEN TRIED

I know we're talking about Trudy backtracking now (still a few pages behind) but I wanted to post Diagolon stuff before I forget:

TLDW: It's a big huge dumb meme

Someone please explain this to me because my understanding of events seems to retarded to be correct.
>Trudy enacted EA
>Trudy started utilizing EA powers to curb stomp protestors and freeze bank accounts
>Parliament approves EA
>Senate debates EA
>Trudy says "lol jk don'nt need EA anymore"

So Trudy can choose to give and revoke these power to himself on a whim and they automatically go into effect until Parliament/Senate say no? What kind of a fucking circus is this shit. Taking it back means nothing if all he has to do is flip a switch to give himself the powers again, he still absolutely has them. Is this how the Canadian government is meant to work or is Trudy just blatantly breaking process and no one cares?

Isn’t this the reasoning behind the “ghost cities”, too? It’s like they can’t grasp the idea that these things need necessity behind them, and instead, the idea of urbanization is just sort of an underpants gnome scheme to them:
1. Build thing
2. ???
3. Profit!
they can definitely grasp the idea. the problem is that a significant portion of their economy is state owned and state controlled, which means the people who make economic decisions are often politicians and bureaucrats with no real skin in the game, and they make these decisions based on political considerations instead of economic ones. this leads to general inefficiency, and to misallocation of resources, which is what these infamous 'ghost cities' are.
