I'm sometimes impressed by how well I can read written French despite not getting most of the grade school French education. I immigrated here some time ago as a child and it was quite shocking to suddenly be learning a second language when I had been gearing up to eventually do Spanish in middle school before. So, there's something to it, but I definitely can't speak French or understand a francophone unless they speak very slowly and simply.

This happens a lot with many foreign languages. While in Korea, many times I saw Koreans who didn't understand spoken English read and understand written English. Personally, I speak and understand Korean better than I read it, especially after being away from the country nearly forty years.

You bring up a good point. Apparently it is legal for Canadians to have accounts in foreign banks/investment companies. If these organizations are not based in Canada, the Trudeau regime couldn't force them to freeze accounts. They may be able to prevent that money from coming into Canada but there are always countermeasures.

As to whether Ontario is really that hated: yes. Yes it is. Imagine you live in North Dakota and all of the decisions are made by New York State and you've basically got the idea, except people in the west are tremendously underrepresented by population so it's even worse.

"Ottawa suffering" is such a fucking joke and such a small yard stick; this is a city that will never know full-scale decline until the rest of the nation is already done.
