Russia already had very good SHORAD from the beginning, I'm not sure why people thought drones were some silver bullet that would change modern warfare instead of just another tool in a competent military's arsenal to begin with.
people are easily impressed by futuristic sounding ideas.
but in practice, drones are just aircraft. smaller, lighter and slower than the aircraft we're used to, but not fundamentally different. they can't do anything that regular aircraft can't do, and they can get shot down by missiles and fighter jets just like regular aircraft can.

Russia is invading Ukraine and one of the top trending hash tags is about Troons dilating and seething about Texas :story:
You're not kidding.. This thing came up on the feed. No wonder the West is crumbling

Sunrise, Feb 24th. Washington DC

Biden rises from bed. He walks to the wall, and presses in his beloved picture of Michelle pegging Barack

The wall opens, and out slides a US Military RB-6-90 Tactical Rain Barrel. TRB for short.

Biden removes a single DR-7 Model Rusty Tactical Razor. He turns west, to the sunrise, razor in hand.

"You never should have invaded Romania, Yeltsin"

Yeah it seems the Belarusian army has joined the war, it is pretty much over for Ukraine at this point

Well, this shit looks over. Another embarrassing foreign policy debacle by this administration. Though they've completely fucked everything up constantly, so its not a shock.

I don't think this is correct. The US was destabilizing Ukraine at the end of the Obama administration. Trump's election delayed them. Now "America is back." After pulling out of Afghanistan, the Deep State had to pick between aggravating Russian through Ukraine or China through Taiwan and they chose the former. I don't think this has anything to do with domestic issues, it's pure foreign policy.

So how far do you guys think Russia is actually going to go here?

A. The separatist republics in Ukraine

B. The whole of Ukraine

C. The whole of Ukraine + Moldova (and maybe the Baltics too)

D. The whole Russian Empire, recreated, refurbished, rejuvenated, reborn
E. They just say "fuck it" and go full Third Rome and invade Turkey for Constantinople.

It is seriously not hard to understand. Russia has ALWAYS been neurotic about its border because its fucking GIGANTIC and impossible to defend every inch of it. The West (particularly the United States) pushing for Ukraine to join NATO was seen as a MAJOR act of aggression and possibly an act of war by Putin. He has constantly warned the West to back off of doing it, and they've never done it. Russia has tried to constantly fuck up Ukraine to prevent this, but this strategy was no longer working. The invasion of Crimea already restored access to the Black Sea.

This is all about Western interference and having Western military bases right on its border. This was unacceptable. Of course, the reason the US did this was for Biden to make up for a failing domestic agenda, so he basically pushed Russia into it. And of course Putin knows Biden is incredibly fucking weak, he just underestimated HOW weak. Make no mistake, Biden's weakness and goading of Russia into this is going to create all sorts of problems in the future.

Everyone is worrying about WWIII, but the Biden administration's colors have been revealed in full and will create giant foreign policy problems. All our enemies have to do is invade after Biden's bedtime and we can't do fucking shit. Again, its easy. Russia wants to prevent a Western alley from right up against its borders for an easy strike into Russian territory. All we had to do to prevent it was NOT be 'strong' on Ukraine joining NATO.

Exactly. Which is why nothing is going to happen. This was a major blitz and our commanders have no fucking clue on what to do. We've lost military exercises to other nations like Britain. The fact that our military can't do shit without a commander in chief and that person has fucking dementia is quite an obvious weakness, though I doubt our founding fathers figured we weren't retarded enough to elect someone who is completely senile. Too bad we were.
Putin also knows Americans are demoralized and more concerned with issues at home. Aside from the baton waving from BlueAnon and Jewish NeoCons wanting war, if Congress is going to authorize a war with Russia it's not going to end well. America is teetering on bankruptcy, its own citizens are fighting each other, and corporate media keeps calling half the population who voted the wrong way idiotic traitors.

The State wants MAGAts it has reviled for four years to lay down their petty grievances and go to war, but most Americans aren't buying it. Fuel, food, and fertilizer are going up and WILL become scarce. Russia is NUMBER THREE in potassium chloride export, Belarus is NUMBER TWO and Canada is number one. We are not in a position to lecture anyone, what with Trudeau harassing his own citizens with sanctions worse than Putin has ever done.

I give it a week before Ukraine is back in Russia's arms.

Russia is unlikely to stop with Ukraine and is going to push into Poland, the Baltic States, and possibly even as far as Romania and Hungary. That will be the point at which it feels reasonably secure from counter-invasion. If Europe cares at all for its security, it's time to start having some meetings.
