It's surreal to see this shit going down in a relatively modernized country. The newish cars illustrate it. All my life, I have only seen it happen in sandland shitholes.
I think everyone should get used to it. This century is going to be a rough af road. We've gotten used to a peaceful world which is NOT the natural state of things. Anytime there is a shift in power the waters get choppy for everyone else and if anyone didn't think a shift in power was happening Russia openly invading another non Middle Eastern country should wake you up. The US is not the monolithic sole superpower it used to be.

This very well may be the new normal for awhile.

With what reserves? The Russians are literally attacking from all directions.

Operationally, the Russians are doing a superb job.

On second note, Does Putin pushing back against America's neocons in Ukraine help my personal freedom? Only in the sense that it is giving them a black eye. But the Neocons in America also own the press and Big Tech so the first thing they will do is curtail our freedom even more while they push for war against Russia, because like Randolph Bourne said: "War is the health of the state."

War by the state only leads to less freedom, never more.

Agreed, it's bizare to see this outside of a video game. All the war footage I've ever seen of the modern era has always been some shithole in the third world or some shithole in the second world crushing rebels wsho don't stand a chance.
Like, look at this:

Those houses look kinda nice. Like something that could happen in my neighborhood.

The whole "end of history" meme is now history.

putin is so fucked if the ukrainians actually drag a fight out.

Christ he really is fucking retarded.

Listen fag, Fusion is a grift. Do you have any fucking idea how different these two concepts are - nuclear is already a pain in the arse. Fusion doesn't even slightly resemble fission in practice. It's such a delicate balance between "How do we actually do this in a reliable way", "How do we do that with energy left-over?" and "How do we make this process less hazardous?"

Just focus on shit like solar, for fuck's sake. Hydroelectric or some other shit. Fusion is what they tell stupid, overeducated retards to help them sleep better.
I know fusion and fission are totally different things. Fusion is much harder to do here on earth because you need a fuckton of energy to start it and containing it is hard. Stars can do it because they have so much mass, but here on earth we can't really do that. Fusion is pretty safe and can't have runaway reactions like fission because it's so delicate it will just stop as soon as the conditions change. However, there's a lot of research going into it right now and some looks promising. It's obviously a very difficult thing to do, but the rewards would change the course of human history.

I do agree hydroelectric and geothermal and solar are good, too, but fusion would be bad ass. Keep sucking that oil teet like a good Republican though

Bullshit. Renowned Pseudo Scientist and self proclaimed Master Influencer Scott Adams tells me its here now and we can implement it safely

There’s nothing wrong with fission and there is no need to wait for fusion. France already gets most of its power from fission nuclear power plants. In Western countries with a powerful environmentalist movement, nuclear has enormous amounts of regulation designed, not for safety, but to make nuclear uncompetitive. If nuclear power was made affordable, all of the environmentalists and politicians who’ve gotten rich off of green energy subsidies would lose their cash cow. Solar and Wind are only affordable if you ignore their massive subsidies and the fact that they require a second power plant for the times when the sun isn’t shiny and the wind isn’t blowing.

I don't think the US will be going to war with Russia anytime soon. Particularly after the Afghan debacle + calling 40% of the country Russian spies for the last 5 years, that's gonna be a hard sell.

Ukraine is a free sovereign nation and all that but it's just not worth launching nukes and ending the world for it. I'm certain this will be something regional between ukraine and russia, with nato supplying equipment and whatever sanctions they can think off to aid ukraine but not step in directly, if de escalation is no longer possible the best thing to do is avoid escalating further, and one can only pray that the world leaders aren't retarded enough to mess something up the line in these following days or weeks.

Assuming this is true, its not really indicative of anything other than "They had ATGM's". The era of the invincible tank is long over, and even a scattered infantry defense can deal some serious damage to an armored force that's outran its screening elements. Same reason we're seeing roadsides littered with Ukrainian vehicles.
