Apparently from what I can gather Russia sent citizens + mercs into Crimea over years and then had that pro Russian population declare independence from the Ukraine and loyalty ro Russia. The same thing was done in the Eastern regions of Ukraine here. It would be like after the Mexicans drove out the blacks in Compton they they announced they were independent of the US and were apart of Mexico.

It's a really smart strategic decision. It's immigration warfare on purpose as suppose to the accident it normally is. And as long as people are pro immigration + pro self determination I don't see how you gain the morale high ground here.

I am not sure about Russian civilian casualties but it most likely some Ukrainian civilians are dead or wounded. Earlier in this thread footage was posted of a dead woman lying next to a bike with a tarp over her while it looks like one of her feet came off.
