Russian liberals have learned a lot from their western comrades.

and if one invokes the international law so dear to the simple-minded, that of the freedom of peoples to self-determination easily applies in the cases of Donetsk, Lugansk and beyond.
Well, something, something the Ukrainian constitution doesn't allow that.

"The right to self-determination" is a really funny and extremely malleable concept when you get right down to it.

It also looks like both sides are taking quite the beating in their own regards.
From my understanding of the Russian military, they emphasize speed and agility, and are not good at hunker-down-and-bulldoze operations like the US military. While they have the advantage of invading a country right on its border, I don't think the Russian economy can handle a long, drawn out war.

So from my little understanding of modern military strategy, Russia has to effectively blitzkrieg Ukraine and obtain a swift victory, or have its economy obliterated back to the 90's.

By the way, this brown guy speaking at the current press conference actually sounds competent and what he knows what he is talking about. Feels a little weird to see that from the Biden administration.

This always confuses me. People always tell me that Putin is insane or crazy, but they don't know that he played IRL game of thrones to get to where he is now and still plays it today to remain there.
Yeah the dude is insaenly intelligent and I really want to find a unbiased book on him. His rise to power and life within Yeltsin's shitshow of a government is amazing.
lol yeah let's give a country we should have nothing to do with 600$ million dollars in weapons. I'm so tired of the US wanting to arm other places. How about spending that money to get rid of the niggers that are eating up free welfare and Killing each other in the streets of Detroit? Or securing our own borders? Fuck jewlosi and fuck biden
I'm sure that 600mil totally won't vanish once a corrupt government gets it's hands on it. Fuck man, Congress may as well just do their money laundering openly by this point.
I thought these were paratrooper Alpha Beta Omega special forces ...

look at this kid, his mascara is running from all the crying. I guess it hurts getting shot in arm.

Poor kid. Hope he gets through this fine.

So the war is a PR nightmare for the Russians. Only the Ukrainians are posting footage from the combat zone, and it's making it look like the Russians are getting butchered when they're very likely winning most engagements.
I get why the Russians are forbidden from broadcasting a war of aggression, but the footage of Russian troops laying slaughtered across the road will haunt Russia for at least a decade

In absolutely minuscule, tiny, laboratory only steps which generate absolutely no net positive power.

Scaling things up to usability, let alone feasibility, requires a -lot- more than just "Make machine bigger".
Wrong. The universal constructors in Rockport, Scottsdale, Leon, Beijing and Kyoto all use fully-scaled fusion reactors.

It's economy is going to get btfo regardless. I'm not sure how they are going to manage the trade shortfall here. I guess they got pipelines to China planned or something.

Maybe they want to put the pipelines through Ukraine to go into the rest of Europe? Putin has to know the EU still needs the natural gas rather they like it or not.

Yeah I'd love a Robert Greene like book about Putin and his various displays of political and strategic prowess (without the usual Greene cheese and self-wanking)

Why would Russia give a shit? If they win, they win. "Oh no Russia lost 20 tanks taking an entire country over while the whole world sat and watched them do it" isn't going to stop the Russian tanks rolling over another Soviet country.
