If May gets postpartum depression, she is done for. The stresses of pregnancy and birth are rough enough as it is, but the care of a newborn can even put experienced and capable parents at their wit's end. I hope she was transparent with her physician about her past mental health, because she is not fucking ready for what is in store for her brain once she pushes that kid out. Best case scenario she made arrangements to stay with her family after she leaves the hospital so her body can return to equilibrium in peace; the silver lining being that if she bonds with her baby, she'll see Ralph for the danger that he is and get the fuck away from him.

If she goes home to Ralph and spirals into a deep hormone induced depression, she'll be isolated with an angry alcoholic who will not only be useless as a co-parent, but also be an overwhelming source of stress in his own stupid and fat way.

It can make formerly sane normal new mommies beat their spawn to death and dump the corpse in the garbage like a dead chicken. With Meigh?
