Proper encryption is pretty damn good these days and it's easier to just march in and start confiscating machines and scouring their drives rather than some l33t remote hacker bullshit
Disagree, plus the encryption would still be in effect if you got the drives. Russia is actually good at being 1337 h4x0r5 and have always been in Ukrainian networks, even the ISPs from which they can "swim" anywhere. They can yoink encrypted files back to the motherland over the net and try to decrypt them and full-disk encryption is irrelevant for a remote hacker.
I don't know I just think "omg they'll find the hunter biden files!!" is retarded, especially considering how much time the relevant contacts have to just DFE.

There is no confirmation yet from either side. The Russians are believed to be the culprit, but so far its just that word, "believed. All I can say with certainty is that there is proof of the damage one vessel took while another one had footage of being on fire. All of the ships involved were bulk carriers. One was Moldovan, one was Japanese and one was Turkish
It occurs to me that it would be extremely easy for one side to perform false flag attacks and blame the other, since they use mostly the same equipment. Ukraine could hit foreign shipping vessels with missiles Russia also uses in an attempt to bait others into the conflict.

ATTENTION HUSBANDS OF UKRAINE
DO NOT ALLOW YOUR WOMEN TO FLEE TO POLAND
BIG BLACK AMERICAN BUCKS ARE WAITING TO STEAL THEM FROM YOU, IMPLANTING THEM WITH MUTT SEED AND DESTROY THEIR SLAVIC HERITAGE

JOIN WITH YOUR RUSSIAN BROTHERS AND SURRENDER YOUR DAUGHTER’S PUSSY TO THE NEAREST SPETSNAZ FORTHWITH.

t. Your Friendly Eastern Allies

We want to appear as hostile as possible to our enemy that will definitely make them surrender and not spur on to fight harder. I call gay-ops

>What goy? Of course, we don't have any evidence of this threat, just trust us

Hi guys I'm back. My take as someone who has a good track record of predictions so far:

- Russia isn't doing as well as they hoped but they're not doing badly
- russia has committed only 50% of its troops and only a fraction of its strategic resources (cruise/ballistic missiles and the like) so far
- so looks like they're going for slow & steady rather than a blitz
- why? Is the question, and it does seem they are trying to minimise casualties, both civilian and military, which suggests they are trying to minimise international reaction and Ukrainian resentment in the upcoming occupation
- Ukraine is trying to make up for all its deficiencies with an extreme propaganda push and manufactured hero stories. It is not a sign of strength.
- Ukraine is blowing up a lot of bridges which won't be too effective because one thing the Russian army invests a lot of resources into and historically has been very good at is fording operations
- Ukraine's decision to give ak-47s and Molotov to any random gopnik who shows an interest is not going to be militarily useful as they are, as we are already seeing, just as likely to shoot each other and regular Ukrainian soldiers as the Russians. Agree with assessment that its to encourage Russian troops to start lighting up civvies
- so looks like grand plan for each side is: Russia intends slow and steady occupation keeping infrastructure intact and civilian resentment and international condemnation low; Ukraine knows they are lost so all efforts are into encouraging international intervention (which neatly parallels what the Russians are trying to avoid showing leadership on both sides have come to same conclusion on what determines victory)

Also an interesting thought experiment: after this current unpleasantness is over, Russia lines up all these troops against the Baltics and Poland and says sanction end or war. How do you think the Western elite will react to being called on their bullshit?

Not checked this thread in like six hours, anyone catch me up?
War continues. Most sigifinicant international thing in the last 6 hours I think is the US Treasury announcing the imposing of sanctions on Putin, His Foreign Minister, His Defense Minister and the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia.
