So basically I am not a milsperg but Kyiv is facing down Russian formations called Battalion Tactical Groups 14 of them supposedly for about 11,000 if the rumor I heard is right and some mil site has a doc describing them and how to counter them

Although to be fair, i think most people would do pretty irrational shit in a war from one day to another in "current year",

I don't know much about war stuff - what advantage does homefield have? I assume
1) you are dug in and you have weapon systems that have the luxury of not having to move 2) logistics 3) in modern warfare not killing (too many) civilians is highly desirable, and that is less of a concern when the invading troops obviously haven't brought civilians with them.

There are probably also drawbacks tho.
