I'm no internet military strategist, but arming your normie citizens and telling them to take on the Russian Army seems like kind of a bad idea.
They know. Ukrain's gov is trying to get its civilians killed to "prove" Russia's committing war crimes to get Western intervention.

I was in a store and watched CNN or another tele-rag go on about housewives in Ukraine are collecting kitchen cutlery for defense. All anti Russian all the time.

BREAKING NEWS from social media.....

The Furocious Furries who entered Ukraine yesterday via a flight to Warsaw were arrested by Ukrainian Police for trying to commit acts of rape and sadism at a local school and local zoo. The FF claimed they were there to help fight the Russian Nazis. However, the police under orders from the military took charge of the dozen sex offenders.

The were bought to a local military facility and formally charged and sentenced under wartime jurisprudence. The FF claimed they are reps of social media and should be treated with extra judicial rights as Americans.

The Captain replied "Do you know where you are?" "No?"

"How about now?"

Google maps of both and realize that you're wrong.
Have you tried googling "ussr map"? The vast majority of it literally just got renamed to "Russia". The countries that were forcefully occupied by USSR got their freedom back and some joined NATO to prevent Russia from occupying them again, since the threat is still there, somehow some people think that this a legitimate reason for Russia to invade a country that has not even joined NATO. I do not think that this is a legitimate reason, so I am solely blaming Russia for starting this war.

Even if it's true that those are indeed Russian convoys and that they have been abandoned, I still think the Russians win. It's a numbers game, man. Russia has a larger population, which means a larger military, which should mean more engineers that produce more vehicles, and so convoys and artillery can be easily replaced. Also, more people means more taxes, and so the Rus gov't can purchase more artillery and other equipment from foreign countries if they want (or hire mercenaries if they're desperate).

By extension, since Ukies have a lower total population, their pro military is smaller, and so they have to compensate with militia. I don't think Ukies are going to get steamrolled, though. They're the defending force, living inside cities with a ton of buildings, which is a pretty solid advantage on the ground; it means you get to take cover first.

I think Ukrainian militias are smart enough to "play Taliban", meaning they'll try hiding behind their buildings while shooting and throwing molotovs at the enemy until they give up. However, I still think their morale is poor, and so if their buildings are shelled by light artillery or other missiles, they'll run. So, if, by some chance, the Ukrainians manage to make Russians abandon their artillery, that's a big win.

But to me, Russians win, simply because of numbers.
I'll question that assumption. Yes Russia has massive military superiority. But if its a long slogging war that lasts months, the Russians would be forced to sue for peace for something less than total victory. But if it's a blitzkrieg that ends all meaningful resistance within two weeks or less, its OGRE for Ukraine. I've been questioning it for a while, but now once again I'm leaning toward to the latter.

Hence why I say this whole thing feels like a conspiracy: propaganda to support Ukraine is to the roof, suddenly coronavirus restriction in the United States is taken down, Trudeau comes out like a hero "russia bad, Ukranians we support". And not a word about the trucker protest in Canada. And only bad publicity for a trucker protest heading to Washington D.C., if that's still a thing.

Especially with little to no training in anything military, this isn't the IRA, the IRA got trained from outside groups even trained by some US soldiers who supported them for the cause.
